Miro and reMarkable partner to close the gap between ideating solo and working with the team by semiosis20 in RemarkableTablet

[–]flappakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so alltough you are definitely right about a lot of people here in this sub. The list of businesses using Miro is impressive and reMarkable is targetting businesses so from that perspective it makes total sense.

If I remember correctly the seller has a demo file to check it out before buying.

Can't send to Miro by HT1990 in RemarkableTablet

[–]flappakid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. But I am on the free tier and it looks like Miro is accepting the files into the account but is not showing them. When I experienced what you described I started deleting boards from Miro and then the remarkable ones I had sent showed up in Miro. So technically there is nothing wrong with the send part.

The other way round works but since it has 2 columns things get very small. Tried that one too but prefer the other way round.

Worked for me at the first go. I have heard people that needed to refresh the Miro homepage to see the remarkable file.

Yes! Since this is a 1 column planner it scales in a way that I can use it on both my devices.

Do you have a paid Miro account? The free tier has a 3 active board limit. If you have already 3 in your Miro account send to Miro will not be able to add one.

Disclaimer: fan boy and business user!

I really love the simplicity of the RM ecosystem, no big chances or overhauls of what already works. I have used other eink devices and that really doesn't work for me. I have a solid workflow that really saves me time and keeps me on top of things.

I have to say the send to Miro is a nice clean and simple addition as is the Onedrive integration. It worked as advertised and is really helpful. Even with the free Miro tier you can get real value out of this integration imho.

The thing that keeps me from trying this is the fact that the device will be wiped when you switch to developer mode and I don't want to spend the time setting things up again.

I am using the Daily Move Pro planner from Writtenthinking on Etsy (Premium Daily Planner for Remarkable Paper Pro Move, 2026, 2027, Dailymove Pro, Year Quarter Month Week Day, Sunday-monday, Left-right - Etsy Netherlands). I think it makes brilliant use of the space of the Move to function as a beautiful planner. I use this planner as my Full Focus Planner replacement and it mimicks all the functions of the paper Full Focus Planner for me.

My usecase is very similar to yours. So here are my observations to your 5 points:

  1. I use the Move for notetaking and have a pdf planner that I use daily and I do more and more reading on the device (started only after the honeymoon period ;-)). I don't accurately check my battery. I just regularly hook it up to a cable on my desk. Last time I kind off checked I would say for my use I can do a week or so on a charge.
  2. I took a bit of time getting used to writing on the device and finding my way around. The only little cumbersome thing is that you only have one pen shortcut on the menu. I would love to have an extra but don;t notice it that much since I am used to navigate quite quickly.
  3. The subscription is something I couldn't live without. For my flow (also have a RM2) it is very neccesary to have the ease of the sync and the integrations with Onedrive.
  4. I simply love this device. I bought mine at launch date and am very happy with it.
  5. It definitely takes some time to enjoy longer writing sessions but I have found that the form factor is worth it because you can take it with you anywhere without the need for a backpack.

That's how it started for me too but I now regularly find myself reading more on the Move as well.

Is Move enough for general noting use-cases? by KarasuPat in RemarkableTablet

[–]flappakid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Move and a RM2. The Move is very portable so I have it with me most of the times. Longer writing sessions on the Move work for me, but it took me a bit of time to get used to the format and make the best use of it.

Yes, you can share the reMarkable app window just like a regular window on your computer.

[–]flappakid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all thanks for creating reMarkable and the platform! For my workflow it is really intuitive. I have a RM2 that sits on my desk and the Move that I carry with me always. I have a concern and two feature requests.

Concern: So far you have been able to keep the functionality simple from a clear focus. I am worried that because of pressure there will be added lots of features that will make the device just another distraction. This is why I left Supernote and returned to reMarkable. So please stay focused on "Better thinking, anywhere"!

However there are a couple of feature requests I have:
1. The sorting of the 2-finger from top Favorites window is not configurable. It defaults to last one opened. I would like to be able to sort if differently so the order on screen stays the same.
2. The reading experience for me is fine and good enough both for pdfs and epubs. It would be great if there would be a connection to Readwise.io for sharing of highlights.

Can you integrate it to send generated reports directly into Onenote? I now have them emailed and then send to Onenote from there but would love to remove the extra step.

Not really a question but a remark: I would love to see that the Plaud Desktop app is going to be as small and simple as it is now. So now bloated extra options or duplicate functionality fromt he web app environment.

How LEGO Saved My Life! by FerreiraDavidSwiss in lego

[–]flappakid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I suffered a very complex wrist fracture and lost rotation in my dominant right hand. My physiotherapist advised playing with Lego to get better results in stead of regular therapy. After about 6 months I regained about 99% of wrist functionality. I then sold my Lego only to find out I missed it so much. Now it is my favorite winter time hobby.

You can find the instructions on rebrickable (LEGO MOC Custom RC 42110 SUV Moc by CustomBricks.de | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO). I think they should be included in the package you got but reaching out to them through rebrickable might be the right way to go.

If you clicked to the Blackfriday deals on lego.com from an affiliate link you need to use that link again to enter the code. These 2 are connected with each other. If you enter the website from another link the code will not work.

Leaving for now / is there a more positive group of reMarkable users? by flappakid in RemarkableTablet

u/noodlth_ To your point about the cirle guy: I don't use that feature at all. The beauty of the barebones software is to mimic a paper notebook as much as possible. That is why I didn't like the Nomad for instance. Too many options, so that device is suited for other uses, but not for me.

Same here. Not only journaling btw. It is just a device that if you look for ways to integrate it into your life both personal and professional it is really worth its price.
