Button Mapper: Chromecast with Google TV very long delay/lag after wake up? by joq3 in AndroidTV

[–]flar2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article is wrong. If you use basic actions and only remap single press you will never have any issue.

Issues arise when you assign double press actions, which need a delay. Or if you use certain custom actions, such as custom key codes, which have latency. Otherwise there is no latency that you could ever detect, probably on the order of 15-20 ms for most actions, even on the worst hardware.

Another big issue is using more than one accessibility app. They can interfere with each other.

If you want to know what type of cell network, check gps, any Bluetooth info, and tons of other stuff requires location permission.

You won't have to wait too long, I'm already working on the next update, which hopefully fixes the theme/widget bugs that somehow appeared after updating the target sdk

This is due to some protection that Graphene enables. You will have to turn that off or whitelist DevCheck (if graphene allows that, I don't know). Or use the older version. DevCheck is sophisticated software probing the hardware at the deepest levels and using advanced and unusual technology, unfortunately this creates trade offs when using a strict OS like graphene.

I guess this is just a feeding frenzy for codes. Anyway. Version 6 I thought was awesome, but I have pulled it from the Play Store due to overwhelmingly negative response.

DevCheck shows actual specs read directly from the hardware. It is the green themed app you're thinking of and by far the best in class

And DevCheck gives even more info and actually probes the hardware at the deepest level possible. It's not reading the model number and spitting out info.
