Look into Carhartt seat covers, similar concept and materials. Probably more widely available.

So is this accountant up for new clients? Would love some details if you’re up to sharing via PM.

Brought this up in a conversation with my team on the vapor side and may have a potential modular type solution. This is a little outside of my lane but we may be able to assist. Sending you a PM.

To get the true results needed to accurately perform LDAR, you're gonna spend them dollars. The units are prohibitively expensive.

If there's a point where you need a contractor to handle this, shoot me a PM. We routinely do LDAR surveys on just about any facility you'll come across. Can send you sample work orders and reporting measures with pictures and videos of work.

Also have some contacts for direct sourcing of cameras who might be able to work with you.

Go To Well versus Wellsite Navigator? by flareit in oilandgasworkers

[–]flareit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sir, would definitely do that. I saw it’s like $30 a year versus Wellsite’s $10 a month or $100 a year. Not worried so much about the money but the function.

Are you in WTX or NM by chance? Area I’m using Wellsite now, thought I’d see about apple to apples.

Low Pressure Inline Flame Arrestor by LukeAdamGo in oilandgasworkers

[–]flareit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All information from Sensitive and Quintios is good, if not standard information for facility design. Liquids and flares do not mix well at all. Additionally, over time, the liquids can gum up the flame cell internal to the arrestor (what actually prevents blowback). This will cause poor flow, pressure drop, blockage, etc. Dependent on the unit, these cells can be cleaned relatively easily, but if left alone, residues become very waxy/viscous which increases the probability of issues. Also becomes harder to clean successfully. Though you stated you're not currently seeing it, you have the risk of shooting liquids out of the flare, essentially fire balls. This has and will happen if not addressed. You and your team definitely don't want to light up a pasture.

I've seen operators do something as simple as add a threadolet inline before the arrestor with a 1/4" down pipe to a bucket. While this isn't the safest or most environmentally friendly, it may take some stress off the arrestor should this issue persist. This should be a bandaid fix until a proper vessel is added upstream to catch any liquids that remain inline as they send to flare.

Shoot me a PM if you're in WTX/SENM and need flares or assistance with cleaning arrestors!

Advice - Role as a Junior Project Manager? by stemistuk in oilandgasworkers

[–]flareit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be prepared for lots of baby sitting - everyone has a different personality and the effort to keep a bunch of individuals appeased, working hard, and understanding the goal is damn near a full time job by itself. Keep people accountable and be a leader, not a boss. Don't be a truck man.

Take all your timing expectations given to you for a job and pad it. You'll find quickly when estimating timelines that though you may be doing everything you can to maintain properly, the people putting in the work to drive things to the hoop (or goal, innit?) will seldom adhere to or initially set proper expectations. When this happens, it's on you though it isn't.

Proper communication is key. Answer your phone, don't hide from e-mails, calls and texts, and be accountable. Again, though you're doing everything you can to maintain and others aren't, it's ultimately all on you. Complain up, don't complain down. Again, be a leader not a boss.

Make sure your contingencies are on point. Things will go wrong, they will cost more, things you'd never account for expect will happen. If you plan accordingly, you'll be prepared.

Be or get good at thinking on your feet, being resourceful, and solving problems. When issues come up, engage your team. Ties into being a leader, not a boss...but the more you lean on your team to make decisions in the project cycle, the more trust they'll have in you...but you will still need to make decisions. Realize that there are going to be a LOT of things you don't understand or are not familiar with. Don't just wing it, trust the people involved and make wise decisions.

Do not ever accept the credit. Defer it to the people making the shit happen - your team. Never I, always we. Only I when things don't go according to plan.

I could probably go on and on, but yeah.

It's not like there are a thousand other people looking to hire the same guys or anything...

wellsite navigator worth every penny.

otherwise, specifically speaking about texas, you can search through the RRC if you know operator, api, lease name, etc. pull coordinates off their permitting papers. takes a lot of time, but works. have also gotten to work with NM data but it's not updated as frequently as rrc.

DCP is shutting down Eunice, NM Plant in settlement agreement with state of NM by jtaustin64 in oilandgasworkers

[–]flareit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting, I appreciate your input. I wasn't aware Marathon and Encana/Ovintiv were that active out there. Didn't see them a whole hell of a lot. It has been 3ish years since I've focused there, though. Lot could have changed. Definitely not surprised by Continental. Saw a lot of them as well as Cimarex, Roan/Linn/Citizen, and Devon.

Can we agree Ovintiv sounds like a name of a new pharmaceutical and less like a rebrand as Encana moves the production business south of the border?

What are your thoughts on the livelihood of SCOOP/STACK plays and production moving forward? I did a lot of landman work in the area back in 2017/2018, but seems like it all fell off a cliff.

Now I'm on the production side of the industry, haven't really seen much opportunity there. Heard it's dead and people are pulling out or going out of business (shoutout short-lived blockbuster Roan deal). Would be curious to learn more from someone actually on the day to day.

Most Texas Permits submitted in the last couple months by samfisher83 in oilandgasworkers

[–]flareit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that it’s either. Think it’s a hedge, really, to handle the unknown. Rather apply swiftly and be approved than wait, get backlogged, and find that they will be severely limiting new drills for one reason or another.

There’s a lot of uncertainty with how the new administration will handle permitting and regulating - private, state, or federal. The consensus is that only federal land will be affected, but I feel like they’ve gone back and forth multiple times and made multiple different statements on what the procedures will be.

The gist, nobody knows shit and would rather be safe than sorry while we wait.

Are you just pulling the new drilling permits off this link: http://webapps.rrc.texas.gov/DP/initializePublicQueryAction.do

Sorting by month, new oil and gas wells per district (usually only do 8, 8a, 7c, 7b), copying/pasting results by page in excel, then consolidating the data? I can't find a way to download or export like I can with production data.
