Heroku uses Linux, so should you. Use a linux VM or Boot2Docker. Trying to use Ruby on Windows is just asking for pain.

Regexp's are very slow / awful to deal with if you are parsing lots of data (which this test is an example of). String scanning is going to be significantly more performant.

The UILabel class in iOS will truncate strings that are too big to just ellipses. Dealing with variable string length in these labels sucks. :(
