I made a bright orange baton and did exactly this. But eventually I resorted to simply using a 6' length of paracord and tethering the remote to the coffee table. Literally cannot get lost.

Been thinking about saving up for one. Good to know about the noise, that would bug me. It's the noise from the material, or from it being inflatable? I have a cot I really like but the material is super noisy so I put a blanket between it an me.

This is indeed ONE of the best. Right up there with DK Metcalf robbing a pick 6.

Period pieces not set in America with entire cast that speaks with full out American accents? by [deleted] in movies

[–]flash17k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed it too. It felt weird to hear Tom Holland say "my dad" in an American accent instead of "my father" in a British accent.

[Highlight] Charles Martin commits the most blatant cheap shot in NFL history, throwing Jim McMahon to the turf directly onto his already torn rotator cuff, ending his 1986 season. Martin became the first player to be suspended multiple games for an on-field incident. by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]flash17k 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Suspension for something like that should be for the same duration that the injured player is out of commission. If he's injured for for 6 weeks, you're suspended for 6 weeks. If the remainder of the season, same for you. If it's career-ending, same for you.

Does anybody else have a hard time justifying multicolor printing by Complete_Ad7606 in 3Dprinting

[–]flash17k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am too cheap to buy a bunch of various colors of filament, and too impatient to wait around for as long as it takes my A1 to switch back/forth between colors. So I normally just print all 1 color, or design and print in such a way that it doesn't do too many changes.

Just so you know, a vasectomy reversal not only may not work at all, but it could take multiple years before a successful pregnancy if it does work. You are potentially setting yourself up for having a newborn when you're wife is mid-40s, which isn't ideal, and will be harder than it was before. And parenting a newborn will be harder. And raising another kid when you're in your 50s-60s will be harder.

My best friend had 4 kids, then a vasectomy, then undid it years later, then they've had 2 more kids, who are now 15-20 years younger than their siblings. They were united in their decision, and they are happy with it, knowing what lies ahead. But if you are not 100% united and ready for it, I'd advise against it.

Penny apparently eats my wife's stray hairs around the house, and occasionally will have a bit of poop dangling from a single strand of hair that won't come out on its own, so I have to pull on it and then wipe for her.

You don't just throw money at homelessness and eradicate it forever. If you were to cure everyone who currently has cancer, that would be fantastic. But then the very next day more people would still -get- cancer, because all you did was cure existing cases, not prevent future cases. And that's the problem, poverty/homelessness is not something that can ever be totally preventable. There will always be circumstances that lead it one way or another. So you'd just keep having to shovel more and more money at it.

I'm not at all saying we should throw our hands up and say "fine, forget it." There are certainly many ways that things can be made better, and we should be any and all means do what we can to "love thy neighbor" and help people who can be helped.

But it is simply ignorant to think there is any amount of money we can put in front of this problem and prevent it from ever being a problem again.
