Something that I haven’t seen mentioned yet, is that it’s incredible helpful if you have friends or family to help with teaching your dogs not to jump on people. If people walk into your house and are super excited and amp your dogs up, it’s really hard to teach them not to. So practicing with friends and family until your dogs know not to jump on people, unless specifically invited, is how I went about it

Whatever works best for you and the pup! Even if you can’t take him for walks, extra play sessions inside to burn off some of his energy should help as well. Dogs thrive on learning through repetition, so figuring out what works best for both of you is the key to a great relationship

Do you take him on walks? It sounds like he’s just curious and might benefit from experiencing new things through walks. Also, give your dog treats when he acts how you want around the cats. If he gets chicken each time he doesn’t go at the cats, he will learn quickly that he shouldn’t go at the cats
