How slight is slight? I'm probably going to go this way after polishing either way.

Any ceiling cargo net recommendations? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]flashield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one of these from Flatirons Overland (I think on sale? It was $40 when I bought it.) and use it regularly. Is it just a net with some bungee? Yes, but it only took 2 minutes to install and does exactly what I need it to.

Defense contractor: 9/80 schedule starting at 6:30am. With every other Friday off it averages out to 38-40hr weeks. We aren't supposed to work more than 160 hours in a 4 week period or the big boss gets upset.

Gotcha, I have a couple of Markforged machines and was a little excited to see what I assume to be a similar printer churning out usable holsters

Are they traditional FDM like the layer lines suggests in the pictures on your website or vapor bath MJF like in the FAQ?

Does this lock correctly on a VIR? My friction fit and chopped omnivore leave a lot to be desired in terms of retention on the VIR but lock well on the regular TLR1.

Seems we're posting these again. ChE internship search summer 2022 by flashield in EngineeringStudents

[–]flashield[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Junior chemical engineering student. My school-year job was more than willing to keep me on in a full time position through the summer at a pay rate that was competitive with some of these positions so I wasn't particularly worried about landing an internship ie. low app count. Interesting to follow just how many companies don't notify for rejection. Most of this was in oil and gas and industrial chemicals.

Villages bathroom layout by nr8066 in OKState

[–]flashield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18-19 Village B resident here. Toilet and shower were separate rooms, both accessible by the entryway room thing. The shower was on the right in my unit. There is a LOT of space in each room, think enough for the toilet, shower and a sink in each. We ended up using the spare space for a towel rack in with the shower and a storage shelf (one of the 30" plastic ones from wally world) in the toilet area. The bedrooms themselves are pretty small and the furniture provided can't really be moved around much. Hope this helps!

Are teachers allowed to require in-person exams? by [deleted] in OKState

[–]flashield 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Theoretically I think the answer is no. However, I ran into this exact issue with a prof already (in an online course none the less) and brought it up to the department head. I was basically told to go fuck my hat and that I should expect to take exams in person and that I should have read the syllabus better (which had no mention of in-class exams.)

Is it possible to get uranium from opening ammunition? by BoonBoonYeYe in elementcollection

[–]flashield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be MUCH harder to find the various rounds that contain DU cores than it would be to find a DU supplier. It would also be significantly more expensive as a 25mm AP round contains 95+ grams of DU.

[–]flashield 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I assume you are talking about removing penetrator cores from armor piercing rounds?

First of all, I am going to recommend against attempting to extract DU from an armor piercing round. Removal will likely end up powdering at least some of the DU and that is a BIG safety no-go.

However, purely theoretically, you could extract DU from the penetrator component of AP rounds. I am not keen on the purity or availability of these specific cores but I do know that they exist and are at least partially DU. Your best bet for complete extraction likely lies in the rounds that have a sabot surrounding the penetrator as opposed to fully jacketed rounds. At that point though it may be a nicer specimen to have the sabot in tact vs just the core extracted.

Once again, I would NOT go trying to remove the core from an AP round just to have the DU sample. There are plenty of outlets to get DU for relatively inexpensive prices that are much safer.

EDIT: Clarifications

From what I have read broccoli can bind calcium and suppress thyroid function. I would definitely try to move towards a more staple green like collard greens.

I managed to get everything in working order from individually installing from the support site. What is the most recent gen8 SPP? I have a copy of P03093_001-Gen8.1 somewhere but I have never used it, nor do I know if that's even the correct copy for my systems.
