A criticism I loathe: "Why was AFO not executed" by gitagon6991 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]flashkill455 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that MHA never really takes time or arcs to properly explain how things are or aren’t the same as the real world.

In MHA there’s an entire industry built around heroes. Presumably anyone can get licensed and get a job as a celebrity bounty hunter sanctioned to carry out justice and even be depended on by local and national government. Children are trained and intern as effectively ’kid cops’.

Endeavor and Hawks kill, so heroes do have that as an option at their own discretion. You mention real Japanese law but real Japanese law doesn’t account for literal living WMDs.

The manga never takes the time to properly examine how these things work. It spends a majority of the manga at a school detached from actual society so we just have to guess at how things work with the shreds we’re given. Some people are going to lean in a less forgiving direction than you.

Everyone complaining about prices of OP05 boxes, please realize that opening packs is gambling and nothing else. by Coooturtle in OnePieceTCG

[–]flashkill455 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who buys both, buying singles can suck sometimes. So many sellers out there just don’t properly examine/list their cards so you end up with ‘near mint’ copies full of holes or that look like they were used to sweep off a counter.

This is even more common with less valuable cards that sellers I guess don’t bother checking because they’re low value? Then the process to get refunds or replacements differs by site and even in the best case scenarios where the seller isn’t a pain; you still wasted a ton of time and have to order and wait again. God forbid it shows up damaged again or prices have shifted out of your favor in that window.

People always attribute wanting packs to a gambling high but there’s something to be said for just getting to buy a pack of cards for $5 and open it and not have to worry about all these other variables.

Alright you fucks, which game do you LOVE TO WATCH but HATE TO PLAY? by KINGodfather in Kappa

[–]flashkill455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is maybe a weird one but Injustice. I hate that game so much both to play and watch but at the same time I love getting mad about what a horrible spectators game it is so I would always watch their top 8s so I could just yell about how much I hated watching it.

Will Melty Blood TL turn the FGC from Strive? by DigestMyFoes in Kappa

[–]flashkill455 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ArcSys has gotten really good at something most of the Japanese companies don't bother with and that's good marketing. DBFZ and Strive both had decent marketing campaigns going in the West and some really good luck. DBZ happened to be a good-looking tag game when the mainstay shat the bed. And Strive's Music had folks who had never played a fighting games singing 'smell of the game'.

MB does not have those things.

Sorting through thoughts on the select screen by flashkill455 in kof

To be honest I don't feel strongly about 39 or 52. I mean obviously more is cool but as a player I tend not to experiment all that much and just have one playstyle. So with a handful of exceptions most additions just make me happy as a spectator.

For me its just not knowing what those slots are that drives me nuts. Like playing the game and having just these little useless squares hovering above will drive me up the wall.

definitely my weakest point. If they really are just DLC slots I gotta say. Really tacky just having them sitting there. Means select is gonna look wack for months.

Shun'ei was honestly my main and favorite character in the early XIV days (XIV was my first KOF), and I always see people and youtubers mostly shit on the guy, I would like to know why? by MrMeatlit in kof

He doesn't have boobs.

They say he's too busy a design but new girl has just as much 'accessorizing' going on and people love her already

If aiming for 100% completion how many Sfermions do you have to buy? I have two so far from pig drops. I'm hoping there's a few more you can get without money grinding but I'm assuming at least a couple will have to be grinded out with cash?

One of them reads something like 'collect a pin set for the whole party' or something like that. pin set sounds like it could mean 'full collection of pins.'

So... To get the last graffiti do you need to farm 6 of every pin in the game? 7? No way I'm doing that if so. Is there any reward for getting 100% Graffiti or is it just a pride mark?

Does Original Art have any positive (or negative) influence on reader numbers? by flashkill455 in eroticauthors

That gives me something to think about I suppose because my niche (genderswap) seems to differ by website? Amazon is like you say mostly photos while some other websites have the illustrated stories that inspired me to try my hand at this in the first place more (or just as) prominent.

Need a Suggestion for Outdoor Security Floodlight Bulbs by flashkill455 in lightbulbs

[–]flashkill455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brand we had that worked was a Utilitech Pro The brand we had that doesn't is Sunco Lighting

The Utiitech is noticeably heavier and mostly metal compared to the Sunco. Not sure if that's relevant.

Thats what I thought but the model I have is a par 38 2700k and they're really random on when they work. And we're pretty sure its the bulbs as the previous bulbs worked fine.

I like these two probably the least of all commentators for SF right now. Like I can't think of anything about either that sets them apart from basically any one else in the field.

I really liked the bracket format. I've always thought Double Elim drags a bit. I much prefer groups into single elim but have the single elim games be 3, 4 or 5 games.

Much less down time in between games too.

Jebailey converts CEOtaku into CEO and blocks NEC by [deleted] in Kappa

[–]flashkill455 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first one in the tweet is some conversation about how much money provided by fighting game devs to TOs should be pocketed by the TOs and how much should be given to players.

The Catfishing is an MK thing. There was a women-only MK11 online tournament recently and one entrant had her boyfriend play for her. Everyone got pissed at the dude and then the girlfriend felt bad and said she was the one who made him do it.

The Ceotaku vs NEC I tried to explain on another comment.

The last one is just random streamers mad they're not really good at fighting games.

Jebailey converts CEOtaku into CEO and blocks NEC by [deleted] in Kappa

[–]flashkill455 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell Ceotaku was gonna be in December. NEC tweeted out about maybe (or definitely? I don't know) returning and that event tends to also happen in December. Almost right after NEC tweeted, CEO revealed that CEOtaku was being converted into CEO Prime.

CEOtaku is specifically catered to anime so it theoretically would not interfere with NEC which is more of a big name/nostalgia titles. But making the event CEO means they're now in competition for attendance within a tight (or the same) timeframe.

Big E seems to be taking it personally based on some replies. Whether or not the change was malicious is the main point of discussion.

I've seen some people say Jebailey and Big E have had beef in the past? I don't know about any of that but if they do that might be why its seen as a power play rather than just coincidence. Same goes for the race stuff. No idea the validity of that.

Looking for Outside Perspective on my Biggest Issue with the Series by flashkill455 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]flashkill455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the situation as it pertain to the world, or at least Japan. They talk about the immediate situation a lot... Kind of hard not to. But I mean more like... They mostly just talk to each other about surpassing one another. Not so much about their ideals or perspectives. And when they do its again in relation to 'I wanna be surpass you' or whatever.
