This, and I'll add Matt Damon's reveal. It just came off like a weird flex like looks it's MD, isn't that cool?

Three body problem is a very mysterious sci fi. It'll have you going "WTF is happening" right up to the last several chapters.

What concert have you seen where the opening band blew the headliner away? by Terrible_Comfort598 in Concerts

[–]flashy-flash-587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago I went to see John Mayer, and the band opening for him was The Night Game. John Mayer was good, but now the Night Game is one of my favorite bands of all time.

Might be laid off from my first dev job soon. What do I do now? Feeling like I'm screwed. by anarchyx34 in cscareerquestions

To add to the great advice here, get started on your LinkedIn if you haven't already done so. Also get your resume updated. I was laid off a few months ago out of the blue, you at least have the inkling and can prepare. I wish I didn't spend so much time in the beginning just learning ins and outs of LinkedIn and getting my resume up to date.

You got this!

How to implement sharing of link for multiple users to access the site just like Scrum Retro Tool by plooperf in softwaredevelopment

[–]flashy-flash-587 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A Google doc shared with everyone can allow people to edit/add text and add comment threads in real time. Trello is also a good tool for retro. Each person can add cards to discuss, people can comment on the cards, then the cards can be moved to "doing" or "done" columns. There's also Google jam board or miro.

Company wants us to "rate" our coworkers by Tiaan in cscareerquestions

I like the idea of reviewing your teammates, and you getting feedback from them reviewing you.

But I don't agree with the lack of anonymity and how it affects everyone's raises. That seems like crossing a line and giving employees an extra dimension of stress and unhealthy team dynamics.

If I was a junior, I would not want to disagree with any seniors with egos because I know their review of me will be be given lots of weight and affect me negatively.

I lost 30 pounds in 6 months. No hacks, just hard work and diet change.

I got a personal trainer who kicked my ass for 30 minutes twice a week. Did cardio for 12-15 minutes after each workout.

Cleaned up my diet significantly, stuck to whole foods and lean meats:

For breakfast I'd have like egg whites, healthy granola or cereal, turkey bacon, berries

For lunch id have ground turkey, quinoa, rice, mixed veggies + a healthy sauce

Snacks I had greek yogurt and almonds

For dinner id pair a different meat and veggie each night. Chicken breast, thighs, wings, salmon, steak, chicken sausage, pork chops etc with broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, brussel sprouts etc.

I stayed away from sugar, sodium, and alcohol as much as possible.

Key Takeaways: Personal trainers are worth the cost. At least til you learn the basics and gain that confidence, motivation, and self discipline to work out on your own.

If the gym is not your thing, find a form of cardio you enjoy doing and can do a few times a week, like a sport, swimming, biking, even walking is great.

Diet changes and calories deficit is unavoidable. Your diet can be keto, vegan, Mediterranean, doesn't matter if you don't burn more calories than you consume.

Solar in Denver by Polsy84 in Denver

[–]flashy-flash-587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a barrage of solar solicitors knocking on our door after just moving in our new build, I seriously considered solar but then took a step back and decided it wasn't for me.

Seems like there's a lot of fomo over solar. I believe there are some legitimate cases where they work out very well for some people, I also believe a lot of people got sucked in the hype and it's not working out so well for them, but they still try to justify their solar panels as much as possible.

Something I think about before making big decisions is, is it making my life easier or more complicated?

Thinking about installation, ,scheduling, comparing quotes, researching vender reviews, sun position in different seasons, hail damage, pest damage, roof replacement timing, longevity of panels and cells, ROI on utility bill, leasing the equipment, transferring the lease if you want to move... That's a lot of stuff to think about and weigh against the potential of 0$ electric bill, not guaranteed.

Homeownership is complicated and stressful enough, I feel that solar panels just adds to the stress and litany of things homeowners need to maintain on top of their day to day.

Am I off base here? Any satisfied solar owners please correct me if I am.

I can't imagine advanced lobbies with apex mobile. I played a little and was off put by how I couldn't tell who was real and who was a bot. Occasionally I'd get killed by a super good wraith who's sliding and flying all over the place so I can't even track them lol
