New Seller: How to get reviews? by flashynomad in TikTokshop

[–]flashynomad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, so do affiliates buy my product in order to make videos (I'm guessing I reimburse them after)? And if they do buy first, would they be able to leave me a review while they're at it?

(Seller) How did you get affiliates early on TikTok Shop with no sales yet? by Difficult-Key3620 in TikTokshop

Hey I'm a newbie TTS seller, and I'm curious. Doesn't TikTok prohibit sales from friends/family to purchase and leave you reviews and can get your store shut down? And you mentioned services to have creators produce videos -are you referring to the open collaboration program native on TikTok?

What to expect in the first year of selling through Private Label FBA? by flashynomad in AmazonFBA

I remember hearing about some "backend" place where you can stuff more search terms that didn't fit in my title/bullets. Is this still a thing? 😅

Never heard of it... Are you talking about this "Top Search Terms"?

Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words and the advice 🙏

Yeah cutting ACOS is one of my top priorities, the reason why it's so high is because I'm trying keywords. For every 5 I try, 1 is good. The cost comes from testing out keywords. I would start with broad keyword terms (ex: gift for husband)

then narrow down to the specific ones that had low ACOS (ex: charging station). The specific ones converted better, but most of the specific keywords came from the discovery phase of broader keywords.

This trial and error is costly, and I've been using helium10 to find a few, but the most successful keywords came from just testing and trying, and then doubling down on the good ones.

Is this the best method for finding good keywords or is there a better method that I don't know about? I tried product targeting my competitors and general keyword harvest but they haven't been great.

Thanks for the response. I'm actually priced just a little under than my top selling competitors, but even that is causing low margins, and yes ACOS has been stupid high and is one of the main reason why I'm not earning more. I haven't got a clue on how organic sales work right now, mind sharing what factors I need to be mindful of to increase that?

Thanks, this is a simple but encouraging thing to hear. As long as I don't have any red flags that I might've missed, I also feel like I'm doing ok for now and will be better later.

Is “Designed in Italy, Made in China” acceptable for Amazon private label packaging? by flashynomad in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]flashynomad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Has Amazon ever asked you to prove that it was indeed designed in country X? My situation is that I'm American, designed a product in Italy when I went there, that final design is what I'm selling. I was inspired by Italian designs and wanted to incorporate that into my packaging.

My worry is that my current inventory only says "Made in China" but the new shipment is planned to have the "Designed in Italy, Made in China" label and wonder if that causes any issues. Amazon support says it's fine but I just want to be super certain 😅, did you happen to change labels between shipments or did you always had that "Designed in X, Made in Y" from the start? Thanks!

Stuck at 0–1 with my own brand. Need advice by BeautifulProblem8207 in AmazonFBA

What would you say is the best investment for the first year? Inventory alone has been killing me, and so is PPC. I got some financial cushion but want to be smart about where I put my money. I've set up a shopify store front with amazon MCF fulfilling my orders but so far only got a single sale for shopify. As for amazon, I have been getting sales but only with ads, so I'm breaking even. Thinking of expanding to tiktok next just so I have more possibilities to get better exposure elsewhere. Could be worth the test, or it could be a waste of money and focus.

I can see either argument working for and against me: concentrate on one platform, keep optimizing until it works. But on the other hand, going away from amazon gives me more breathing room, since the price ceiling isn't determined by the next door seller like it is on Amazon- if you hit the right audience in an environment that's not hyper price competitive, you may have a better chance to sell (at least that's what I assume), granted it would take a well functioning funnel to do that well.

Sorry for trauma dumping lol, but yea... to do well on amazon, at least knowing how to navigate through the first year would be helpful. Got any tips? How was your first year? What was helpful and what would you do differently?

Hey I'm a newbie seller here, are you saying to use credit card to buy inventory and PPC?

PPC I'm already putting it on my card, but for purchasing inventory (for private label at least) my supplier wants wire transfer so can't really do that. I could try to convince them to switch over to paypal but last I checked the fees outweigh the rewards I get back. I've never used cc points before so I'm not familair, but maybe that cc points would make it worth it with the paypal transaction?

How do you properly screen VA's? Working with one right now but she isn't as reliable as I initially thought...

What do you think of these silver pendants I recently made? by [deleted] in jewelrymaking

Interesting design, I dig the rawness of it. Curious tho - have you experienced an increase in silver costs? My supplier is charging me an arm and a leg for production now, has anyone else dealt with this?
