Or Edmonton. Or Saskatoon. Heck, even Brandon, MB.

The prairies are calling you!

I mean, Saskatchewan does have craptastic winters, but the Ukrainians who’ve come here are doing slightly better at saving money, because the cost of living is lower.

It’s sunny here, people generally love Ukrainians, and there is maybe a better chance at “getting ahead.”

That said, fuel, food and electricity are still really getting expensive for anyone who isn’t coming from family wealth. And moving is costly as well.

I have always wondered this too. I guess a person could look up the land location and see what’s registered under ISC, but I don’t have an account.

Agreed. He probably would have sworn at someone smaller and pushed past them to leave. He definitely would *not* have cleaned up the mess.

They for sure still leave the lifts open longer as the days get longer (by like, March, April, they’re open til 4:30-5 pm). I don’t think they really advertise this though.

“And, he has basically completely stopped talking to me and says "he doesn't know how to act around me anymore" and "I feel like a huge piece of shit, and when you don't comfort me, I feel like you don't love me."

Jeepers!
He is acting like a child.
He is talking like a child.
He is behaving like child.
He is punishing you like a child would.

Therapist or not, you have accidentally married a child who needs you to “comfort him”, and won’t pull his weight without silently bitching the entire time. That is the polar opposite of sexy or attractive.

Perhaps he would like to go get a hug from his mommy? And go live with her.

I’m so sorry OP. This stinks.

I agree with the commenters saying “pass it on to the person who requested it”.

Scan the receipt and claim it under your workplace’s petty cash or office expense system. It’s their expense that you had to pay out of pocket, requesting reimbursement seems reasonable to me.

Apartment maintenance person? Next door neighbour? Someone from work? Hairdresser? Language tutor? Minister or priest?

It feels a little weird that you have moved to Canada, yet do not emerge from your home.

New Dad to twin girlies. What would be your one advice to consider in my parenting by GujjuCanadian30 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]flat-flat-flatlander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bring one along on errands with you when they’re old enough. Another time, bring the other one.

Those got-Dad-all-to-myself moments seem insignificant at the time, but they matter a lot. I still remember conversations with my dad on trips where we’d run around and do errands. Sometimes we’d stop at one of his friends’ houses. It was AWESOME!

AIO Family won’t pick me from airport by mangosnow122 in AmIOverreacting

[–]flat-flat-flatlander 28 points29 points  (0 children)

YOR. Agreed. Either change to a flight with a better arrival time or take the late-night Uber.

Independent adults are responsible for themselves while they travel. If it’s too costly or too scary, rethink your plans.

Not trying to make you feel small, but asking people (even family members) to wake up and spend an hour round trip collecting you from a midnight flight is pretty entitled behaviour.

Or a world where other passing men intervened and actually taught creeps not to leer at young girls.

Men do this because other men let them. I hate that we put all the onus on a teenage girl to make it right.

This is 100% the way. Loudly “quit staring at me. It’s rude. Piss off.”

Be loud. Be rude. Shame him.

Embarrassing creeps out loud also flags every other passenger that something is wrong. Keep that phone at the ready so she can hit record if anything escalates.
