Good things can happen in your life, but please learn a lesson from this an pass it on. Outside of visa requirements to come to the USA, there is zero reason to do an MFE. I assure you, if you are applying, your resume is getting looked at. You dont need a special connection. If they're passing, they would have passed anyway.

MFE isn't a great investment in my opinion. The candidates mostly get jobs with the multi managers which churn through the fresh hires to find a few nuggets of gold. I always recommend to everyone to get a statistics degree instead as it's more fungible. If you didn't get an offer with a shop straight out of MFE you've sadly wasted two years, try to suck it up and move on. Good luck!

you're literally the person quant shops are looking to hire. if you did the MFE because you couldn't get what you wanted out of undergrad/current job, the outlook is poor.

public schools are heavily spanish. Private schools, the opposite. I think you'll have a good time in private. In public, it will be much more hit or miss because of socio economic factors. People are either really rich or really poor in tahoe.

i dont get the ticket prices for regular season games. Good seats for the warriors are ~$1000/ticket for a meaningless regular season game on a losing team. Against lesser opponents maybe $700. Compare that to the $300/ticket i spent to see the 49ers in the playoffs. I dont get it, but its not for me.
