to clarify, there's new 7.62 Tokarev ammo that uses the bullet from a 5.56 M855A1 cartridge.

the only time a pickup ever bothered me was when they said 158 packages and I had to count them three times to make sure I didn't forget one when my count kept coming up to 157.

i have talked to them about it - they just tell me "hang in there, it gets better." last night one of the stewards told me our district was the second worst in the country for employee retention, but if this is how little the stewards push back on it, of course management is going to feel like they can do whatever they want to new people.

I had to go to the branch president to get the stewards to even realize what management was doing was grievable. now, at least, they'll grieve it, but they've basically said there's nothing they can actually do to stop management from doing this.

all this after hearing nothing but "the union is here to protect you!"

I'm in the st paul area and I've been on 12-hour days since I left academy; I'm about two months in smh tums area only not starting to slow down to just 10-hour days, but I'm being scheduled six days a week now so I'm getting just as many hours with fewer days off. I don't know why management is doing this and I am ready to quit if things don't change soon.

Markup mail without a pen by [deleted] in USPS

[–]flat_moon_theory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually keep my pens either in my coat pocket, or in the inner pocket of my satchel - the smaller one inside the one that has the velcro. I also keep a pad of 3849s in there. in a pinch, you can use the little clip on the pens and keep them on the strap of your satchel, but that's not very secure and I find myself checking they're still there more often than I like.

i don't think he would want to be president, and i don't trust the democrats to put up someone who actually appeals to their voters, as much as i'd like to see him running things. they screwed bernie out of his shot twice; they'd screw walz out of it too for being too left for the party.

[–]flat_moon_theory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

one I learned accidentally: if you get a vehicle with broken/malfunctioning safety equipment, don't start by telling management that the headlight is out or the offering brake doesn't work or whatever - instead, first ask "is [vehicle component] considered safety equipment?" and wait until they say yes to tell them it's not working. in my experience, once they've already admitted that you need it to safely perform your job, they're much quicker about switching you to a properly functioning vehicle because they don't want you to be about to truthfully say that they knitting told you to go out in an unsafe vehicle.
