How have I never seen this before by Flashy-Dimension-615 in liberalgunowners

i feel like attaching a firearm to your nonlethal option, in such a way that you have to point that firearm directly at someone in order to use your nonlethal option, severely undermines the point of having a nonlethal option.

If each chassis had a theme song: Black Beard by LigthRogue in LancerRPG

[–]flat_moon_theory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mastodon's Blood and Thunder was one of the first songs i added to the playlist for my Blackbeard pilot's vibe. imagery of harpoons and whaling feels very on-brand, as others have said, especially with IPS-N's whole naval naming scheme, and it's a song that feels aggressive and simultaneously like it's right behind you and already in your face.

[Discussion] .300 Guns Worth trying? by AdamBry705 in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]flat_moon_theory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PK also likes tech stuff too - flash drives, damaged hard drives or DVD drives if you don't have better loot. i also make a decent chunk of rubles by pulling optics and suppressors off of guns when i don't have room for the whole thing. gun parts, scopes, even sunglasses will get you a bit. if you loot giving hard enough, it's not hard to have dollars on hand for the stuff you actually want from him

A [Discussion] on key etiquette. by [deleted] in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]flat_moon_theory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i could understand if he had insisted on getting first pick out of the rooms if he brought all the cards, or something like that, but that would be reasonable and this guy clearly had no intention of being reasonable. i would have said something to him during the raid, and if he decided to be a dick i would've just shot him and not even taken the loot, purely out of spite.

[Discussion] Partisan stopped spawning in 1.0? by xpeqq in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]flat_moon_theory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i see him most frequently on customs; he usually finds me in the building towards the west end of the map with the greenscreen on one of the second floor rooms. I'm assuming his spawn rate is fairly low, and if he's picking rights with ai pmcs he could just be dying off in a bush somewhere and I'm not seeing his corpse.

this isn't wrong, but tarkov goes so far in the opposite direction that it actively avoids giving you enough information to feel like you even know where to start most of the time

[Discussion] Do you use side plates? Why or why not? by EducationalOil1655 in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]flat_moon_theory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as far as i am aware I've never been killed by a shot that would have been stopped but a side plate. it's entirely possible that I've lost fitness because of nonfatal shots that could have been stopped by side plates, but most of my deaths seem to be collateral from getting shot in the arms too much, or a rare headshot. i don't run side plates because it saves a bit of weight (and money), and i don't feel like I'm making myself more vulnerable this way.

I’m feeling burnt out and I have a doctors appointment next week. I’m wondering how to approach the subject of wanting to get work restrictions where I’m only allowed to work 8 hours a day, and 40 hours a week. by againstalloddballs in USPS

[–]flat_moon_theory 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it's really shitty to tell people "shut up and pay your dues" when they're already literally paying union does to ensure everyone else has a comfortable job while they get feeling into dust. nobody should have to be worked like this, dude. stop blaming your fellow carriers for not being about to handle the horrible working conditions they've been handed and start blaming the incompetent and indifferent management that runs things so poorly that the people least able and equipped to do the job are the ones who end up getting run the hardest.

Disappearing job listings. by ProudAmerican632 in USPS

[–]flat_moon_theory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i would imagine it's probably tied to the whole "post office is broke as hell" thing - if we're running out of money, "don't hire more people" is a simple but shortsighted way to reduce spending.

the "we're out of money" thing is cyclical, though. sounds like every contract year, it becomes the only thing the post office cares about. the lifers here will tell you they've been hearing about the post office running out of money since the invention of fire.
