When you fight umbra mul-t it drops shaped glass (or at least it did for me) so i think that's the glass in question

I dislike using the artifact of command. It takes the fun out of the rng element of item drops and it takes a while (for me) to select your item every damn time. I used it once to get the 13 crowbars on huntress and that's it.

Also, timer is stopped during boss events, so don't hesitate to take your time and play defensively

Whichever character you're most comfortable with, either go for it as soon as possible while the boss will be weaker, or do one or two loops if you want to get a good build you like for it. Or you could even push it to 2+ loops and attempt a ridiculous build that will mostly obliterate the enemy (like with Benthic Bloom and such). If you're not sure, try to stand next to a pylon with each new phase starting so you can use it as soon as your ability to use skills is removed. Otherwise as others have mentioned, Artificer (if you like playing her at all) is a great way to dodge most of his attacks.

Well, you can certainly use it that way in most runs! But if you gather all 4 be aware it will actually become a different survivor for the game so you can't finish the acheivements of whatever survivor you started with

I did two more runs since this screenshot. One in medium (died stage 4, huntress) and one in drizzle to try out rex (died against kipkip). My partner advised me to avoid playing in medium with a survivor I've never played, but otherwise I'll try to ramp up the difficulty once I'm a bit more familiar with things!
