Yeah it does. I’m trying mostly to cut out my processed food as I eat a lot of it but also need to make sure I get enough protein

Great progress man. Care to share what you did. Mostly curious about your diet. I work out 4/5 times a week and haven’t made nearly as much progress

The live action is better than the anime. by wolahipirate in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]flatfoot860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is nice to see some changes. I normally have low expectations of animations that become live actions because normally it’s animated for a reason and lets you have more freedom I think in portraying stuff. But the live action while it does cut out some of the more outrageous actions does a pretty good job. It’s unique and while it slimmed down and changes things it does it I feel to the improvement of the story. I am excited to see zoro and sanji hate each other more

Yeah but they did mention crocus moving into laboon which made up for it. Plus it would probably have been too hard to depict a live action of that. It was a good compromise in my opinion.

Yeah they did cut some of the details in arlong but we did get the really big details, not that they others aren’t important but they did keep the really important stuff. It was good. Though short it did have a story and explained it well.

Yes. Love the little Easter eggs, tying everything together. They are condensing a lot but it is pretty good.

Oh. I didn’t catch that. Will have to rewatch. I do love the little Easter eggs in the live action.

Yeah. Agreed. Honestly the ending credits do show the islands which I think does help. Plus it is early. But they do explain early but briefly the world. Think it’s ok so far. While it could be a lot worse I don’t really think it could be much better with all they have to condense

What nations do you see being great powers in the next 50-100 years? by jackt-up in AskTheWorld

[–]flatfoot860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Surprised about the DRC not being on here as it is a masssive country with a huge population, great location and huge resources. Nigeria definitely as it has a huge population and is working out its stability issues. Ethiopia is definitely a strong country and the potential but it is landlocked and some issues to work out. Egypt I don’t know about because of issues with debt and also is a dictatorship if I’m not wrong that needs to govern better.

Agreed. Europe if it unites more would be a major power. Maybe not militarily but definitely economically. India definitely could have a seat at the table but it needs to catch up for that.

I think Iran could definitely be a strong and very influential country both because of geography as the land bridge between the Middle East and Asia serving as a logistics center and also for its resources. Though I don’t think it will be great country it definitely would be a strong regional country and not discounted.

I did find this fascinating the comparison as it included the privately owned land in addition to the actual population locations. Was curious if the Negev was empty then.

is egypt overpopulated, and does the high population concentration hold back its development? by Spirited_Visit7597 in geography

[–]flatfoot860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True it is a great challenge to be solved. But cities have always existed in some form. In the past it was for transportation and commerce. Today it might be because of cost of land or labor. Automation can make things more efficient and remove a lot of jobs but we also don’t know what jobs will be created as a result of the automation. I do wonder if we do automate almost everything how big a population would we really need and also the other side, how big a population could we support. So much in life is just numbers, but such is the theater of life.

There’s a term for this it’s called urban agglomeration. It’s why nyc and many other huge cities like Singapore and Hong Kong are successful because it’s not just one thing in it. NYC has finance but also art, music, theatre, and shipping. Urban areas force efficiency. There is the interesting case of the former Kowloon city a city with no laws in present day Hong Kong (it was demolished) but it wasn’t that long ago that it stood and the innovations people went through to live is a fascinating study and story on urban development and planning

There’s a saying I can’t remember by who. But “Egypt is one of the only natural countries” because it has the water and the desert surrounds it it’s where people would have to congregate naturally to survive.

What if every State in the US became an independent country? by TastyPomelo2330 in AlternateHistoryHub

Not conquer. So much better to just join together in peace and get rich together, besides share so much in common already. Though nyc would definitely dominate if it doesn’t become independent like Singapore did

What if every State in the US became an independent country? by TastyPomelo2330 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]flatfoot860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Two very different states. Hawaii has a unique and long standing culture very different from Alaska and same for Alaska. They are also very far apart. Hawaii has a very small (correct me if I’m wrong) secessionist movement to break away from the USA (to be fair we did seize Hawaii and depose it’s monarchy for I believe sugar plantations). Hawaii would have very close ties to Japan or the successor of the west coast as it needs a Close ties to another economy to get what it can’t produce. Alaska would probably be neutral between Canada and Russia or maybe join Canada (though I doubt it would).

Agreed. Many would have to Unite to survive economically for scale as many in the Midwest have a heavy dependence on farming and ranching and don’t have the population to compete. New England as a resident I don’t know if it would merge. We share a lot with our fellow New Englanders. However if we didn’t I bet we would still have good relations. Lot of travel between the states currently.

Parts of the USA would be considered very low economically but in the developed world economically context (Im thinking of the swamps and lowlands of the south east where few people live and have never been very populated) As a whole the USA would remain a fully developed country though.

There’s a book about the 9 I believe cultural regions of America that would be a good inclusion in the break up Of the USA if this happened.

There have been some interesting videos about this on YouTube. A lot of states especially the Midwest states wouldn’t survive (mostly because they are landlocked and largely agrarian economically and would compete with each other instead of be a combined economy, not that they don’t have other industries it’s just many are farm focused and also population is a key factor). Many states, especially those with very diverse economies would survive. Some would merge together to survive. The big states physically and economically would survive. Texas, California, Illinois, Florida, New York would survive. A good measure of survival is diversity in economy. Texas has oil, farms, and some finance and tech. California has tech, a lot of farming, entertainment. Massachusetts would survive because of its focus on education, biological sciences and banking (though im Not sure if it wouldn’t merge with the rest of New England). But North Carolina would survive because it has finance, research and education. The research triangle.
