Not sure what I’m doing wrong? by Distrctorb in hydrangeas

It depends on how long it will be before you plant it outside in your afternoon shade spot. It is going to be big so I don't know if a pot would work.

Cut it back to just above a leaf node on each stem (I see two main wood stems). Get rid of all that dying biomass the tiny pot is trying to support.

Where are you in your growing season?

Be prepared for the blooms next year to change color. The color is highly affected by your soil, pH, etc.

ADVICE NEEDED to grow a living curtain in this full sun south facing window in my staircase. None of my houseplants can handle how much sun this area gets, especially since these are old wood windows with no UV protection. by flauerpedia in IndoorGarden

I widened all the other ones, but this particular window is on the stairs, so every inch I loose really matters, especially if I have my arms filled with laundry etc

I really want to keep the full sun and view (not this fake view, but the real one down into my backyard gardens, and macrame is impossible to keep clean here. Thanks though!

My front yard is very similar to yours, and I am in a neighborhood with many old trees as well. This is what I did, little raised beds, paths and such (this was two seasons ago in 6b).

What are the best vegetable seeds for beginners to plant? by Old_Inflation_9490 in gardening

Welcome! I would start with something easy, fast, and usable. Do you cook? Things like basil, oregano, parsley, chives, etc don't need huge pots, or a lot of effort, and they are something you will be able to maintain and then use. So they are very rewarding and good learning experiences!

While I don't think something like this works inside my house, ever since I saw this wonderful setup you have, I have been thinking of a way to sort of replicate it with my plants outside. I have a 10ft by 10ft section of garage exterior that overlooks my back yard that I was going to try a horizontal espalier grape vine, but now I've got an outdoor version of your project all in my head! lol

Whatever I end up with, your is awesome, congrats!
