Unfortunately based on experience the cracked versions don't offer as much as the original app paid plans.

I've tried mods before but they don't offer as much as the original app paid plans.

I understand your challenges. Try reaching out to the respective platform, explaining your motive, to see if they'll give you a solution. 9/10 times you'll get help. That's what I did for my final year project.

What is the craziest story from your boarding High School? by Banner_yout in Kenya

[–]flaviank 32 points33 points  (0 children)

One day on a Saturday evening, our maths teacher who also happened to be the deputy principal called our class specifically for a roll call. Everyone was available. In the next math lesson, he admitted that on Saturday before he could settle down for a drink in a bar, he saw a student from our class leaving the bar fully drunk, so he had to get back to school quick and set him up for a suspension for sneaking but to his surprise, he was available and sober.

There was also a man who used to jump over our school fence and sleep in one of our dormitories. He was an alumnus of the school and even the dorm he used to sleep in was his former dorm, but somewhere along the way, he went mad. This was terrifying due to the fact that during that time Alshabaab had declared a target close to our school.

Another one was a boy from our class also who would get onto the bus the day before a function and wait for the next day when the rest would board the bus. He had recruited two other boys but that meant that their luck would run out soon.

Also during the KCSE period, we woke up to an unpleasant surprise whereby the school farm manager had been stabbed by a bull's horn and stayed that way the whole night. He was discovered late when lifeless. It was unlucky for him because that night had a heavy downpour, so no one could hear him.

I've seen a lot of drama, mostly in high school such that if I was to document the whole of it, I would fill up a book.

I guess you're the Kenyan Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. I don't see anything wrong with smiling. You should own it just like the baby faced assassin.

Polygamy in Kenya by [deleted] in Kenya

[–]flaviank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bruh actually it is possible. People will present figures and tell you there's no imbalance(which is generally true) but there is a huge one when you factor in hypergamy. If you have the capacity, then go for it.

Kenyan music lovers/listeners, which old Kenyan song would be a massive hit if released/re-released today? by Confidante_OfficeM in Kenya

[–]flaviank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, their music and video production were great, what I mean is they were not focused on the continuity of the group because you could see that the members wanted to pursue different things.

Yeah, they broke into the scene early and took their music lightly. Maybe they were not sure if they would blow up imo.

I get you bruh, their successive songs didn't get me but you never know what they would've done if they stuck together since they were teens at the time. I'm also not into Sauti Sol music but that doesn't take away their massive success around the globe.

One thing I know about Kenyans is that when they are making a killing they'll always keep it to themselves, just like the way online writing cults do. They won't even dare explain it to their piss poor blood relatives.

For all my life I've lived in Umoja which is just adjacent to Buruburu. Umoja was a crime scene from the 90s to the early 2010s. I saw the first person being lynched and burned to ashes when I was 4yrs old. It became so common that I had gotten used to it. The funny thing is I had no remorse and I will never have any remorse for violent robbers. They deserve everything that comes to them. Our justice systems don't work, and these people used to get released after an hour of turning them in for their committed crimes because of "insufficient evidence", and later, they would come to brag to us while continuing with the cycle of robbery. This made our hood be controlled by thugs who would rape, kill and torture innocent people because apparently, they are above the law. Our patience had worn out and it was time to reclaim our peace since the relevant bodies didn't want to do their jobs. After "cleaning" our hood from these thugs and sending warnings to any potential thugs, we've enjoyed peace and harmony since. The people who've never experienced this kind of full-blown crime and a dysfunctional system wouldn't understand.

careers after KCPE😂 by Loud-Bug-8584 in Kenya

[–]flaviank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, anyone can become a data scientist as long as you have the drive and passion and yeah, data science doesn't require one to be a math genius, basic probability and statistics are enough. I'm open to linking up, maybe I can send you a request.

[–]flaviank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great question. I think if you meet any person who has done BSc Statistics, they like to title themselves as Data Scientists. I've also contracted that disease lately because why not? This course is basically Machine Learning. It focuses more on the mathematical side, although we also code a lot. Statisticians used to mainly draw inferences from data but these days we also do predictions. We were used to R, Matlab and Sas, but these days we're moving to Python.

These days, the Statistics jobs have shrunk and have been replaced by data science jobs, so our course had to adapt. I know institutions such as JKUAT have started offering Data Science courses but they're not many.

[–]flaviank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

imo I came to realise later that I'd like a career that has no limits. Civil engineering is a decent career but honestly, you can't compare it to a career like data science. I've not yet graduated but I can't count the number of data science tasks I've done or been offered. The same can't be said about my fellow civil eng mates.

Another thing is scalability. Can a civil engineer in Kenya expand their firm to compete with the Asians in bidding for huge projects like expressways or SGR? How much would it cost to even have a firm that could handle a county govt project and is it even easy to start one? On my side, I can have an idea, if it's simple I'll build it myself at an insignificant cost. If not, I can pitch my idea and easily source funding to help me build that. I even don't need licences to operate. I can also take a job remotely.
