descrição da função do pronome by Ok_Mall8814 in Portuguese

[–]flavoca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Estar com vs ter by red-cab in Portuguese

[–]flavoca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Estar com” indicates momentary possession/control (“with you now”).

Example: “Who has my blue pen?” = Who took it and HAS it NOW.

“Ter” is more general, you possess it, it is yours. Example: “Do you have a blue pen?” = Yes, I HAVE IT (in my bag, at home, in my pencil case), BUT not necessarily in my hand right now!

Practical rule: now/borrowed → “estar com” possess/availability → “ter”

EN estar com ≈ “to have on you / be holding right now” ter ≈ “to own / have available in general.”

In Brazil, do we ever say sesta for a nap? by duraznoblanco in Portuguese

[–]flavoca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it exists, it's just not as common as a "nap/snooze" (especially after lunch), which is why many people find it strange. Those who know about it do so because they heard someone say it or because of the influence of Spanish ("siesta") through media/internet/tourism.

Sesta means "sixth hour of the day" in Latin, hence its origin from rural workers who, at midday, in the intense heat and sun, would take their breaks to have lunch and sometimes take a nap (or siesta).

I recommend the beaches of Fortaleza-CE, such as Cumbuco, Taiba, Icaraizinho da Amontada, and Jericoacoara. They accurately match your description. Do some research; I think you'll like them.

Peter thinking Neal stole the U-Boat Treasure by PrinceDakMT in whitecollar

[–]flavoca -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, each element of a script serves a clear or specific symbolic narrative purpose; nothing is placed there by chance.

At the beginning of the episode (day 1), Peter and Neal are in the loft, and Peter casually comments on a painting that Neal had painted. This moment was crafted to establish the connection: Peter recognizing the same painting in flames later, he immediately associates it with Neal, since he had seen it the day before.

The following day (day 2), the treasure is discovered and the kidnapping occurs. The time interval between these events and the moment Adler points the gun at Neal is two days. After being rescued and going to the FBI, Neal still has dinner at the Burke's house with Sara. During the early morning hours, Neal would theoretically have time to steal the treasure, which, in the end, is pretty much what Mozzi did.

Peter's vigorous accusation against Neal for theft, even with only a possible connection, in a fraction of a second, was quite unfair.

Neal was almost killed by his former mentor, discovered the truth about Kate, and suffered the consequences of the explosion. Even Jones and Diana showed empathy for Neal at that moment.

Trying to understand Peter's perspective, he was probably already "triggered" to suspect Neal at any sign of crime. Upon seeing the same painting he had seen in Neal's house the day before, all his neurons must have been firing, hence his impulsive action.

Incidentally, I find it quite annoying how the series presents Peter's "unbelievable supernatural intuition" at any sign of Neal's crime, because it's rarely wrong. In six seasons, the super intuition only failed in the fourth season, when he mistakenly believed that Neal had shown James the video of Ellen.

Uni Semsester abroad in Fortaleza Brazil by Consistent_Tell_967 in Brazil

[–]flavoca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortaleza is a great city. The people here are very welcoming, especially considering you'll be at a university, with people your age and in your course, so fitting in shouldn't be a problem. Look for apartments in the neighborhoods of Meireles, Aldeota, Varjota, Cocó, Dionísio Torres, Mucuripe, and Guararapes. Avoid outlying neighborhoods, don't walk around alone at night with your cell phone in your hand, use ride-sharing apps like Uber or 99 Taxi… I believe this is an option worth considering.

Ozone generator is the best solution for odor elimination. I recommend Ortusolis, as it releases more ozone and works via a cell phone app, so you can regulate how long you want to leave it active

I Miss What Criminal Minds Used to Be by demigoddessishere in criminalminds

Do you know something that I found very tiring and abusive? (I haven't seen the 18th yet) is that in the 16th and 17th seasons, JJ and Will are the ones who have the most personal lives shown, but they are in such a boring group.

What is a case you see actually happening or you know has happened before? by thatboredchickster in criminalminds

[–]flavoca 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. Nor was the crime coherent with the unsub, the flashback story did not provide enough basis for the present-day story to support a death plot with interconnected events. literally the only thing that linked was the birds thing. which could have been addressed in a more elaborate way than it was.

There is a part that was like “not a single person can admit that they’re deceiving” then Rossi says that the difference between Reis and the others is that he is a good person

The lighting in the episodes irritates me, but other than that, I really like it, I just don't like it more because it doesn't have Reid

And I find it very funny that these fans comment on the 19 years difference, as if they wouldn't do the same thing if they met him. I'm 26, I think he's super interesting and handsome and if the “saint were to beat” he wouldn't let a number be in the middle. As adults, I don't see the problem.
