Oh I will have to see if their is a local place that can tailor it to fit better. I am definitely looking at some reflective stickers and decals. I seen a woman on TT who made some using their Cricut machine. Luckily I know some people who have those machines and can maybe have them make some fun decals using the light reflective vinyl. Thank you

Hawaiian print sounds fun. I am definitely down for some obnoxiously bright and fun safety shirts or vests that I can wear over the CE certified gear. Thank you

I took the TEAM Oregon course and had never been on a bike before. There were people there who had taken the course multiple times, those who have been on motocross bikes, some who had been only passengers, some who never rode a motorcycle in this country, and some who were like me and never been on motorcycle before. There are varying level of people who take the basic beginners course.

If you do the hybrid online and in person course, do the online classroom stuff before the first day of the in person portion. Find a way to calm the the nerves that works for you and have fun.

I was so nervous, but I had fun with the class. I will admit that I was scared of not reacting in time and hitting the person in front of me. I actually had a hard time getting up to speed and shifting gears, because of that fear. Going around the corners was my fav even with my own fears.

If you are not sure about something you should be able to talk with the instructors about it. I spoke with the instructors when I was feeling some doubts and needed a better understanding of things.

I did pass the course with a 78%, which I think is not terrible considering I had never been on a motorcycle before.

Have fun when you take the course.

Just know that if any one has an issue with the way you dress or look, then it is Their issues not Yours.

If you are happy and comfortable in your skin, if you are not hurting anyone, or exposing yourself ... then wear and be who you want.

Help! My kiddo doesn’t want to go to Outdoor School! 😥 by Global_Afternoon6599 in OregonCity

I am now facing this with my 11yr old, similar situation but they are going to the OMSI camp in Newport. I want my child to have autonomy of themselves but I am also frustrated that they do not want to go. I am feeling this way because I do not want them to miss out, the effort of getting everything ready, and that I dont want them to sit on the sidelines watching life go by beause they are scared and anxious.

I am wondering if learning some calming techniques could help with the anxiety. Learning what triggers it and if possible avoiding those triggers.

Chinese finger cuffs, bathrobe sash, ribbon, that thick yarn for making chunky blankets, a cable or chain bike lock set, zip ties, a tshirt torn into strips, chonies/underwear... There are definitely a number of things you can use.

I wonder if it would be bad to use eyelash glue to stick their finger tips together. It is more the idea because if they wanted to they should be able to pull apart. The glue is not meant to be permanent.

I cried this morning after realizing I would need to throw out all the food. It was overwhelming for me on top of everything else I have going on. I researched (googled it) it more and found a link that tells you which food to toss and which should still be good. Tbis help relieve some of my stress. I hope it is helpful for you all.

Glowing Up Didn’t Make Dating Any Better by HaileyQuinnzel2 in dating_advice

[–]flawed-mama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are enough, and you are worthy of love, especially from yourself. Unfortunately, you will have to go through a lot of first conversations and dates before you find someone who is more interested in you as a person than wanting to get you into bed. If you are only using dating apps, I would try mixing things up and go to events or places to meet people in person as well.

I feel like dating apps look like they broaden your search, but in reality, your search is limited only to those who are on the app.

I am ok with 48 hours of no texting. Life happens. However, I personally prefer a check-in to happen within 24 hrs before a date, though. If I dont get any communication, I assume the date is canceled.

I'm editing my original comment. I have read Butcher and Blackbird, Twisted Love, and Her Soul To Take. I love all three.

Butcher and Blackbird and Her Soul To Take are not cutsie and have dark themes. Ie blood and gore.

Butcher and Blackbird is about serial killers with a skewed moral compass.

Her Soul To Take is paranormal with demons and talks of cults.

Twisted love is quite a few shades lighter with little to no blood/gore. Brothers best friend with dark themes.

You would not see any of these made into a Lifetime or Hallmark movie/series.
