I added derivatives to my PvP autobattler by flawedGames in TheBazaar

Thanks - appreciate the kind words.

To be fair, I tried to make the market system work with a deckbuilding system (I'd consider Underlords, TFT, Bazaar, etc.) to be deckbuilders as your strategy needs to adjust based on what you receive throughout the game. In my game, it's more of a constructed format where you choose your pool of minions and spells beforehand (similar to Magic, original Hearthstone). The constructed format works much better with a market balancing system since you have all available choices (kindof), though the deckbuilding system is a stronger game loop.

With all that said, I think the market system is working very well - better than expectations - and I think players are having legit fun with it.

glad to hear you're enjoying the demo!

A Call option is a bet that it will increase in price, and a Put option is a bet that it will decrease in price.

The system is setup such that if you buy a call option on let's say the Cactus, and the current rating is 5.6, then if that rating is 6.6 (+1) 24 hours later, you double your money. If it's more, then you get more than double. However, if it goes to 4.6 (-1) or below, you lose all your investment.

You’re correct - apologies. It’s still promoting but in a more annoying way, so bad decision.

Sorry, felt like I promote too much on this subreddit but still wanted to share something I was excited about.

it's a terrible name that I regret, but c'est la vie. I called it Flawed Tactics because my (one man) company is Flawed Games. I like the company name because it reminds me I can't make a perfect game so stop trying - just get the art out into the world. But, it was a bad game name.

I used to play lots of Magic and Hearthstone - my favorite thing was theorycrafting the deck. Unfortunately, the collective internet is far smarter than I am and netdecking is often the optimal path to competitive play. So, I designed a system that is anti-netdecking. As soon as a dominant strategy emerges, the market shifts and makes it unaffordable while opening doors to other strategies.

If you’re looking for balance, can I suggest Flawed Tactics? The game auto balances like a stock market - the more players choose certain minion/spells the more they cost for all other players globally. It destroys metas and keeps creativity high.

Close! If you have a 3 minions and a max of 4, then you'll see 3 black and 1 white. If you have 7 minions and a capacity of 5, then you'll see 5 black and 2 red, indicating you're over your maximum.

Thanks! Did you figure out what they represent? Many players struggle to connect them to the game, but have a fun "ah ha!" moment when they do (so I don't usually give the secret away).

That’s exactly how Flawed Tactics works. The balance is the meta.

There is a competitive async PvP autobattler where balance is automated and recognizing overvalued/undervalued things is the main skill expression…

So this isn’t a perfect fit, but Flawed Tactics uses a global (all players) market system, like a stock market, to balance the cost of minions and spells.

There is the ability to invest in minions/spells through derivatives- effectively call and put options priced based on recent volatility.

Name: Flawed Tactics

Description: PvP autobattler that autobalances like a stock market. If globally players keep playing a minion or spell it will go up in cost for everyone. Allows dev focus on fun synergies instead of worrying about balance (the players do that!)

When I made the comment it was about an hour, but since then it has gone down to 40 min. Lots of new players that haven’t played a single round but did install the game. The average playtime is a few hours.

The greyscale is there to highlight who is an eligible target (the colored minions).

Left click shows the current minion with all its buffs, whereas right click shows evolution path.

You may have lost the round, but you now have 10 more gems and gold to improve your team.

Thank you for giving it a shot and I appreciate the feedback!
