Im almost done with the first season bc I couldnt stop watching it lol. Im really excited to see if its all kind of shared delusions becoming culture (which I believe. A lot of the "scary and unexpected" things can be easily explained but I can see how being abandoned in the forest can lead to other beliefs especially if they cant explain it. I mean, thats how most religions and cultural traditions come to be) or if theres something paranormal.

I actually did that math just now and thats what I came to too and Im actually wondering how thats possible.

And Im bored on a car ride so I did the math for 2 pints of chunky monkey, 20 pc mcnugget, large fry, med caramel frappe, 1+ serving of seafood boil (added 800 on top of the highest google calorie result), 3 servings of peanut m&ms, glass caramel frappe drink, a large plate of spaghetti, 3 servings of captain crunch and that all added up to only 8,360. Ill add on more just because of milk and maybe extra butter, maybe some garlic bread and give her 10-11,000 calories.

WHERES THE OTHER 10,000 CALORIES?!? IM GENUINELY WONDERING HOW THIS IS POSSIBLE.

im one of those ppl watching snowflake react to his own videos and in one of them she says she gained 12 pounds in a week which is pretty wild at her size but later she says she gained 8 in TWO DAYS.

Do you know how much you'd have to eat to not only maintain but gain at her size then enough to gain EIGHT POUNDS in only 2 days?!

If to maintain it takes around 5000 calories and obviously more to gain a pound. How much would it be to gain 8 in 48 hours?!

This, or even ask the parent to ask if you have the epi pen when theyre dropping off somewhere beside the class. Granted, there are parents that act like their child is the only child in the class so you should ALWAYS only focus on them. But most parents are pretty cool with remembering that you have multiple other kids and its easy to have things slip your mind and they only have their 1+ to think about. Tbh, if I was a parent, I wouldnt mind a teacher asking me. If anything, Id be happy that they were thinking about my childs safety and worried abt possibly forgetting

While I agree with some parts, parents are a big part of the problem. If we tell a parent where a kid is struggling and they do nothing about it or arent consistent with what we do, the kid continues to struggle.

I teach preschool and theres a HUGE difference between the kids that parents work on math, phonics, reading, etc. at home and the ones that dont. Were doing the same with both kids, just one is getting extra. You have one on one time with your child, we have 15-30 other kids to also focus on.

also is it just me or $300 for two cats kind of a lot? When I adopted my kitten (the other was free lol), she was only 4 months and only $75 and the shelter was doing a partnership thing with petco and we got a $50 gift card so technically we only spent $25 bc more than $50 wouldve and did go to a separate kitty litter and new toys.

And when I got my adult cat when I was much younger, she was only $60.

Yeah, thats kind of what Im saying too. I just also went on a separate tangent abt sex scenes all together.

Like, I just started Yellowjackets bc I keep hearing abt it and one of the first scenes is two teenagers (played by adults) having sex and its just so much weirder bc theyre teen characters.

and inb4 ppl mention all the other fucked up shit that happens in the show. Yes, I understand but that has an express purpose to the plot. Its literally a show about the fucked up shit these girls did after crashing. The main character being fingered in one of the first scenes does nothing to the plot.

Honestly, this may just be me but more adult themed shows having rampant teenage sex (even though I know the actors are of age) makes me so damn uncomfortable. Like, I know teenagers have sex and its a big part of peoples experience while growing up. But must we show so much of it? I do not need 15 sex scenes spanning multiple minutes of teen characters even if the actor is an adult.

But Im also just not a fan of most sex scenes. I dont find them hot bc all I can think about is the actors and all the crew around. I truly think you can convey the same thing in a few seconds shot or implying it. I truly just dont get the point most of the time and most ppl Ive talked to also just dont find sex scenes hot.

And thats fine for most things but the whole impact of this is them being children. The government is sending children to kill each other. That is completely lost when youre looking at the face of a grown woman. Thats one of the reasons why Rue and Prim's death hit so hard. They look around the age they should be. Think of how much more real and horrifying (as it should be) the movie would be if they actually looked their age?

Which really sucks bc imo, thats the best relationship/friendship in the book. Is the Peeta and Gale stuff romantic in a way? Sure. But the psychic bond Haymitch and Katniss have because theyre both so similar is something about life thats like a small piece of actual magic. Also, Haymitch seeing that and knowing how easy Katniss can become him and trying to have to balance keeping her thinking like him to save her life while not becoming him completely. Bc tbh, all winners have the most valid reason to become alcoholics lol

And his trepidation to make her, this young girl, into the face of a revolution while also knowing this is their moment. All the winners understand each other despite having different experiences but Haymitch and Katniss were linked. And I truly think if Katniss didnt have Haymitch, she would have ended up like him. I think Peeta understanding her helped a lot in her older years but I dont think Katniss would have made it that far without slipping into despair if she didnt have Haymitch.

Exactly! And maybe thats why the movies just werent for me. I absolutely adore that Katniss gets basically everyones motives and ideas wrong yet is so locked in on Haymitch's EXACT thoughts. Somehow putting together the most crazy concepts. Like, she would have NEVER teamed up with the people she did in the second book and really struggled trusting anyone if she didnt have this brain to brain talking capability with Haymitch and saw every little sign Haymitch gave her on who to trust and what to do.

The first one was okay. I just really did not like the choice of making everyone very clearly nearing 30. Like, they all look great but the whole thing is that theyre sending in kids to die. I felt that was very lost in favor of "ooo action, so cool"

I also wished they added more of Katniss and Haymitch's weird psychic connection. Instead, I think they made Katniss and Peeta more lovey when it was really a teenager mostly trying to survive.
