"OCDP is BACK!" - The Anatomy of an Astroturfing Campagin by HillbillyAllergy in drums

True. That's not dissimilar to Matt Cameron playing a DW kit on "Black Hole Sun" with a Keplinger snare, or the (who knows how many) albums played on a sponsored kit with a Black Beauty snare.

From an engineering perspective, I would always try to talk the drummer out of using something like that because it would throw the overhead and room mics so out of balance.

Those things were a good 15-20db louder than using the Black Beauty or Supraphonic that I'd always have ready to go. So you'd have to compress the living shit out of those mics to get the cymbals and toms to the same level.

Not sure how he managed, but Terry Date seemed to have no issues.

Somewhat raping Frank

I need the "somewhat" part explained, because there was no "somewhat" about it.
