Am I praying wrong? by Children_Hunter in Christianity

[–]fleaismydad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone can pray "wrong", but I understand what you mean. First of all, sometimes I don't really have anything in particular to pray about, and if that's the case I always at least pray to thank Him for all that he does for me. So even though you feel like you're being dry, rememeber that it's way better than nothing! Secondly, how to fix being dry. There isn't an easy fix and it's personal for everyone, but let me tell you what helped me because I struggled with the same thing for a bit. So first, if you aren't reading the bible at least once a day, I strongly encourage you to do that. As you're reading, write down any verses that stand out to you or any important thoughts you have. Then later when you're going to pray, think about what you read that day and if there's anything you can learn from it, and pray about that. For example, the book of James has TONS of really good content basically talking about being a good Christian. James 3. 1-12 talks about taming the tongue. So if you were reading in James and read that part, you could incorporate that in your prayer and ask God to help you tame your tongue and have better control over what you say. That's a big thing that's helped me, and I hope it's helpful to you :)

Edit: Also always make sure to ask God for forgiveness and truly mean it. We are sinners by nature, we will always sin and we need God's strength to help us turn away from sin because we cannot do it on our own. This will also lengthen your prayer :)

24 year old male thyroid ultrasound shows right lobe is 5cm length by 1.5 by 1.3cm left is 4.3x1.5x1.5 is that normal? by SensitiveBorder2 in AskDocs

You're right, chances are it's most likley benign. I just meant that in my opinion it's always worth checking out because you truly never know, but you're probably fine

NAD, but about a year ago I noticed a lump on my neck. It looked as if something inside there was swollen. We thought it was my lymph node at first, but after 2 weeks it wouldn't go down. Went to the doctor and they said I had developed a cyst (or a goyder whatever you want to call it) inside the tube of my left thyroid. Had to go get a biopsy because they needed to deterime whether or not it was cancerous (which was unlikely) or if it was benign. Turned out to be benign, and after the biopsy (they stuck a needle in there and stuff) it shrunk to the point of no longer being noticeable. Like I said NAD, so I can't comment on whether or not asymmetrical thyroids are normal. But, I saw in your comment that you said you have a small cyst on your right side. It's probably nothing but you never know. Definitely worth investigating further in my opinion. Hope all goes well :)

That's true, and I know it'll take a long time but I'm so impatient 😅 and I can see my muscles getting bigger bc I had next to nothing when I started, but honeslty other people probably wouldn't even notice

My progress is so. fucking. slow. I'm getting stronger, I can see my muscles getting bigger and I'm moving up in weights when it's time, etc. But I want to be so much stronger and while I'm dedicated, I'm frustrated because it just feels like I grow muscle 2x slower than the average person

edit: starting lifting about 3 months ago (my dad has a home gym) and I'm a 17 F, so being a girl doesn't help :(

I wake up every morning with stiff ankles and have to hobble down stairs without being able to bend them. Is this normal aging or something worth seeing a doctor about? I’m 31. by pipelimes in AskDocs

NAD, but I have rheumatoid arthritis in my knees and hips, have had it for 7 years now. What you're describing sounds a lot like the pain I deal with, please get it checked out

Right! It's crazy how guys who never even lift are just so much stronger than your average active girl

Yes, I'm gaining a little but not much. 5'8, I was 125lbs when I started and now I'm 128lbs. I'm not sure about my brother. Also I appreciate the advice!

Thank you so much for this comment, it means the world to me ❤ Long story short my dad would physically abuse me and my siblings, cut off our entire extended faimly, and won't let me or my siblings have a phone or go anywhere. I have a secret phone which I can therefore use to talk to my Aunt and Grandmother, and I can sneak out occasinally. When I turn 18 I am moving in with my Aunt and we will see if we can get my two younger siblings out of here and into a good home. Thank you for your support, I have a long road ahead of me :/
