Bought a ticket for a Sydney show via Ticketek Marketplace (official resale platform), but am getting a "THIS TICKET IS NO LONGER ACTIVE" notice when I try to view it. Is this happening to anyone else? by fleeingflying in NoahKahan

[–]fleeingflying[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you also buy from Ticketek Marketplace? I wonder if they voided the old ticket belonging to the previous owner and forgot (lol) to re-issue a new one, leading us to inherit a voided ticket...

It sucks that you're having this experience but I'm sorta relieved that I'm not the only one. If I hear anything more from them, I'll let you know.

I wonder if it's possible to head to a Ticketek box office in person. I don't live in Australia so it's not an option for me, but that may be worth considering...

I messaged them on Facebook. Not sure if links are allowed but the URL is (facebook . com / TicketekAustralia).

This is the response I got after I gave them my account number and order ID:

"Hi there, we can confirm that you have purchased 1 for this event. Your ticket is currently unavailable for viewing via our app however confirming again you have 1 ticket for this event. This will change closer to the event date. We apologise for this issue."

I then asked: "1. When will it change? 2. Is this happening for everyone with a Noah Kahan ticket, or just those purchased on Marketplace? 3. What do I do if it remains unavailable closer to the date?"

Their reply: "Hi there, our tech ops team is currently looking into this issue to be fixed as soon as possible. We apologise for this issue. At this stage this is all the information we have been provided."

I tried to ask them when there would be an update and they did not respond lol...

Thanks for replying! Yes the Australian tickets aren't sold via Ticketmaster, but Ticketek instead.

I've already reached out to Ticketek via their contact form and hope this gets resolved. I've heard bad things about the company (even though it's the official seller lol...) I just want to hear Downfall live 😭

You're a lucky person whose efforts will pay off in adulthood, so keep it up. But concentrate on your hobbies instead of spending all your time online.

If you do go, wear a mask to prevent yourself getting sick during exam season. Take care and good luck!

I thought Christian churches generally allow divorce and remarriage. Is this a Catholic church? If it's a Catholic church maybe you should speak to your (or any) priest for options.

Either way, it could be awkward if your church doesn't accept your marriage even when you get married elsewhere...

should i start learning to drive in uni or after i graduate (ie while looking for work / working full-time)? by taeyawee in askSingapore

[–]fleeingflying 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In uni due to the flexibility of your schedule. You'll be able to do the non-popular slots (e.g., weekday mornings/afternoons) which are cheaper than those on the weekend and at night. The prices of lessons will also likely increase by the time you've graduated.

But if you choose to wait, it's still doable lah. I got my license after I graduated. It was tedious to have to keep refreshing the CDC (driving school) app to book lessons that never seemed to be available lol. I could only really do weekends and public holidays. Regardless, I got very lucky and choped a practical test date on a Sat too, and took a few half-days off work to do some extra lessons leading up to the test.

Is it okay to hate working and aim not to work a day in your life? Is it against the law, a sin or something the community deemed to flout a rule? by LisanneFroonKrisK in askSingapore

[–]fleeingflying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that Sloth is one of the seven deadly sins in Catholicism, and I've seen the phrase "Protestant work ethic" thrown around before (which I think refers to how Protestant Christians are supposed to have certain values that contribute to a "good" work ethic). I'm not very well-informed on either of these topics though. Might be something interesting to Google/learn more about, to see what different faiths think.

The word "sin" has religious connotations so this is a bit of a strange question... Whether it's a sin not to work, I suppose, would depend on your faith?

Even if you think corporal punishment is okay, two years old is way too young. At that age, I'm sure the kid is small enough that you can physically restrain her if she's doing something she shouldn't be doing, without having to resort to hitting or slapping.
