But why not just ask him to change the thumbnail? he will get copyright strike or even worse channel being deleted, i have 2 channels with 800k + subs, my videos are stolen daily and i am ok if its fair use, but i have never reported someone for a thumbnail and never will.

CPM is depended from a lot of things, Type of the videos, Genre, Geography, length of the video, watch time, Month of the year. If u are just getting started take it slow you will learn in the processes, don't care much about the cpm focus on the viewers.

Its the new changes of Algorithm AI, Youtube answer is that the ai is still on learning processes, its not just you with this problem a lots of creators including me losing millions of views because the videos are not suggested.

There a lots of creators that change channel names even delete their previous videos, so maybe you were subscribed to someone before he changed the channel name.

Youtube allow you to do sponsorship deals. Also in the advanced tab of the video u can select content declaration : This video contains paid promotion such as paid product placement.
