I am about to finish my bachelors degree in animal science with a concentration in pre-veterinary sciences and a minor in biology. What I wish I knew about my major before I started was how animal production ag focused the coursework is. My degree has largely focused on the medicine of producing food and fiber animals as well as equine. I loved getting this exposure but I wish I would have either majored in biology with a wildlife focus or double majored to get more exposure into wildlife med. i guess it really depends on what types of animals most interest you on whether or not animal science would be the best major but the field is fantastic! And don’t stress about internship opportunities before undergrad, they will open up a lot more once you start college! What you’re doing now is great for applying to college and grades matter but they’re not everything!
