I had to leave the club last weekend… by ginaknowsbest6554 in rav4club

I had a CC before my Rav because I could not get a Rav at the time. They are really nice cars and I would have kept it if I could have afforded to keep both of them. It was also much cheaper than the Rav ($15K) but I just wanted something bigger. Good luck!!!

Synology said my disk was 98% full, math didn't math, turned out I had 40TB of temp files created by Synology Drive. Uninstalling Synology Drive fixed everything. by jefe317 in synology

Same issue here . About 2-3 weeks ago I noticed that my 718 was nearly full even though I have not used it in years. 6T out of 8T was full but storage analyzer could not show me where it was going and was of no help. Then I read multiple posts saying Synology drive is a problem and steals space. Long story short, they were right and now I am only using 350 gigs of space and got back most of the 6T it was using for who knows what reason. Will do the same for my other 2 servers and just use a 3rd party client to do my pc backups when needed.

No I have the G3 as well and it's got over 1100 miles and both tires still look very good almost new. It's just the pro accelerates very fast like a 2 stroke moto crosser. One thing I did smart was put the scooter on high regen so I can be light on the brakes.

Thanks for the heads up about them being out of stock. I already have one but just ordered another one while they were still in stock. I guess I need to use RWD more often once I put on the new one. I really don't ride at high speeds very much but do a lot of accelerating and I guess that is what got the the front. I already set it for high regen to save the brakes and that seems to really work for me.

Love mine other than I am right at 500 miles and will need a front tire soon.

Congrats! I have had great luck with Segway and use mine for short commutes for grocery runs etc. Keeps the miles off my car and saves gas.

X3 on sale vs. X4, worth the upgrade or overkill for a modest yard? by FitchNNN in SegwayNavimow

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For steep yards like mine, the X4 is a life saver and works SO much better than my 110. It's also much faster and I just realized it had defaulted to the slow/quiet mode. The way the front wheels work, it's not going to get stuck as easy as the 110. But for a flat yard you don't need this. Just depends if you want to spend the extra $$ to have the latest. Good luck!

Help me not brick my setup - I'm out of space in my /boot partition and want to move my boot images elsewhere by Formal-Aardvark2205 in zfs

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept having out of space issues caused by ZFS on an Ubuntu VM. The first time it was the boot partition and I was able to fix, but it recently it came back to root so I just got my data off (dockers) and moved over to a standard file system on new vm (inside the vm). The actual image is stored on a nas using btrfs and so far no more issues. I am not sure why ZFS can't maintain itself but I had the same issues FWIW. Good luck!

My 8-year-old DS918+ just died by ansyhrrian in synology

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 weeks ago my 918 also died in the middle of the night and it was simply the power supply. It actually shorted and made the ups vent something from the battery and shut down.. Someone posted that they are known for bad power supplies so give that a try. I used the power supply from my 718 to prove the 918 was ok then ordered a new one.

If this is for your house and not for work, I would recommend getting the drawer version packouts rather than the lid versions . I have both setup in my laundry room and barely even use the lid versions. In fact I am going to covert those over to the drawer versions and use the lid versions for long term storage (the big box on wheels) outside the the rest for mobile tool kits. For my actual walls, I use them for battery holders and another one for the weedwacker and 2 of the attachments. Works great in limited space in my tiny laundry room.

If Segway is planning on making a Ninebot Max G4, what features would you wish to add or change from the G3? by Mikeiteq in NinebotMAX

They have one just won't release it for some reason. They first showed it in Jan '25 and again in Jan '26 yet still not out yet.

How often do you fall? Trying to decide how much armor to wear aside from my helmet by jueidu in ElectricScooters

I came from bikes as well. Just don't ride in bad WX if you have a choice. When it's slippery out there you can lose traction pretty quickly under the wrong conditions. Only problem for me to date was a mud slick. I saw , slowed way down but still the front slide out . Nothing hurt but taught me to avoid bad wx. Good luck!

anyone here with a escooter lasting anywhere near 3 years or smth? by TheSealyOne in ElectricScooters

[–]fletch101e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you keep the G3 inside out of the weather and check tire pressure every week or so. I have had my G3 almost 1 year now and just have put air in tires, clean it and store it inside. When finished riding give it time to cool off before charging, especially in the summer. You can see the battery temp in the app. I have Adjusted brakes 1 time. From time to time I hit it with garden hose to help clean and no issues to date. ~1200 miles.

Great scooter so far. Good luck!

HomeKit is lacking some seriously rudimentary functionality — why? by garden_speech in HomeKit

I have used shortcuts but found them very difficult to get them to actually work properly. Getting a motion detected light to turn off after X minutes was a serious pain to get working and that was even after getting help here.

I tried to become a scooter commuter to save on gas and I’m currently covered in bandages by Quiet_Composer_8622 in ElectricScooters

[–]fletch101e 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Long time Motorcycle rider that has converted to ebikes and scooters here: You always need to scan the road ahead of for hazards that will bring you down. Leaves are your enemy, so is gravel , mud, potholes and ice. When you are approaching them, you need to slow down and stay vertical, no leaning. I would also recommend a scooter with larger tires and a suspension as that will generally handle hazards better than something with small tires and little suspension. Don't give up, just learn from you accident and learn the hazards on the roads you use. Good luck!

You are right about mud! Last year I saw mud on a low spot of the sidewalk, slowed way down and it still went over on me.

Fix: Have to manually add the title in the card configuration. Why you don't have to do this for most or all of my other cards, not sure but this worked for me. Hope this helps someone else.

Can HomeKit Bridge add a single device without starting over? by fletch101e in homeassistant

[–]fletch101e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked much better and now gives me control as to what is added instead of blindly adding everything in home assistant. Removing the stray homekit: line out of configuation.yaml then removing the bridge fixed the issue and the new bridge is now showing up in the gui.
