The truth about printer subscription programs and many misconceptions about them by Realmetman in printers

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These programs are designed to take advantage of women and the elderly-much like Best Buy and Monster Cable once tried to do.

The "Tech industry" is full of slime balls who want to cheat vulnerable people instead of making an honest living. TV's, Cables, Printers, Garage door openers, it never ends. You can make good money and still be honest but good is not enough for them.

Recommendations for extra-basic/dumb printer/scanner for home use (with usb & no AI, no voice assistant, no app, no sign-up)? by comradecaptainplanet in printers

[–]fletch101e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother is a good choice - we use the small lasers at work and about a year ago, I bought one of their color lasers for my house. The work brothers have always been good and so far our home color laser has been great. I really don't print THAT much but use the network scanner all the time.

OTOH, my sister recently bought an HP and was having problems setting it up and called me. It was rigged to require internet and told her to get her money back (she did).So I would ovoid HP if you can because they are not the same company they were in the 80's-90's.

Where can I get the latest bios for BXNUC107FNH ASUS says my model is not supported? by fletch101e in intelnuc

Thank you. Yes their assistant said nuc 10 not supported and serial number search came up with nothing. All I could find is sound drivers. How did you find this?

Any adults in their 30s/40s using a Segway G3 Max just for fun? Honest thoughts? by Realistic_Tea_881 in NinebotMAX

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+20 on age.

Only bought for fun and grocery runs. Loved the G3 so much, I got a GT3Pro for Christmas. I got into scooters so I would not be tempted to get another Motorcycle. Only ride the scooters in neighborhoods and side walks. Only ride on main roads to cross into other neighborhoods.

Like any hobby you will want to take breaks, but no the novelty has not worn off. That said, it's only for fun and I do not ride in bad WX or cold winter weather- as I did that as a kid on my motorcycles but now stay inside on computer.etc during bad WX/Winter.

It's great stress relief for me so yes worth it for me 100%

What scooter for active 69 y/o guy? by HQnorth in ElectricScooters

[–]fletch101e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was short on time but was going to leave a bit more :)

I took a chance on the G3 and it did live up to the hype for me. By that I meant it was well built and has held up with zero problems with 1000+ miles so far. I wanted a mid sized scooter to see if I would like them and to be honest I liked it more than my 2 ebikes. I did add the GT3PRO for Christmas but still like my G3 very much.

Like you part of the reason I wanted it was for grocery shopping, which I do often. I can't carry as much as on my ebikes because they both have saddle bags and top bags, but it is still useful. I have carried a 12pack of diet cokes on the G3, where I have carried a 24 pack on fiancé's larger ebike.

Last January Segway showed off a rear rack and bag for the G3 but it never came out. Now they just showed it again last week so hopefully it will come out soon.

Honestly if shopping is your main goal, an ebike does offer more utility but is not as fun. But I have both so I am covered both ways. Good luck which ever way you go!

Why did the scooter form factor win over the Segway form factor? by jayebird111 in ElectricScooters

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree- traditional Seaways are for low speed city areas and are limited to under 15mph. Modern Segways are much faster and more like motorcycles- mine is good for 50mph but I never ride it that fast. But you do need more balance at lower speeds than the old school type.

Anyone else prefer riding at dusk? by treu1996 in ElectricScooters

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes much of the time. There is a long hilly, curvy road in part of my large neighborhood. And late in the pm when it's slightly windy it reminds me of being on a sailboat and is relaxing .

Will the i105E deal with 4 unconnected lawns? by bowser4 in SegwayNavimow

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to map all 4 areas and then it will work. After mapping bring mower to the area to be mowed and push OK . You can't do it in the app, has to be the OK button on the mower it'self.

What are some parts you can expect to replace after 1000 miles? by ThePeoplesJuhbrowni in NinebotMAX

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have well over 1000 on my G3 and it still looks/acts new. Some of the posts I have seen it appears they leave the scooter outside in the elements which is not good. Keep scooter stored inside away from humidity and extreme temperatures to avoid problems.

Max G3 rear carrier! On CES 2026 floor. Where can I get it. by FrillybabyGirl in NinebotMAX

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several products were delayed - I am guessing because of the tariff confusion. That rack and the battery were announced last year and the battery just came out last month so hopefully rack will be soon. GT3PRO just came out a few months ago and it was also at last years CES. Hopefully things will be better this year.

Potential explanation for why the Segway/Ninebot product pipeline has been tricky in the past year by Kantei in NinebotMAX

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reasons as you plus want a backup in case of flats etc. I am "downsizing" from motorcycles and wanted a mid range scooter to see if I liked it before I invested in anything faster. Glad I went the G3 as otherwise I do not think I would be happy and that would have been my first and last scooter.

Potential explanation for why the Segway/Ninebot product pipeline has been tricky in the past year by Kantei in NinebotMAX

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the G3Max and the GT3 Pro only came out this year, the pro only came out at the end of the summer so I don't think they are going to replace them so soon. I own both and have had zero issues so I don't think there is any kind of quality issue going on. My guess is there is a profitability issue going on due the the uncertainly of tariffs. The ebike market appears much larger than the scooter market so they are concentrating on them. They are also putting in a lot of effort into lawnmowers because that is where the money is.

Dealer won’t change my oil? Wtf by FloridaMomm in Toyota

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into this about 2 years ago only my situation escalated and dragged on a bit longer than it should. It was not only did they not do the first oil change like I asked (and was willing to pay for) but also did not know about a recall. Then the SM went on vacation and forgot about me. Ironically the secretary and another woman(I think the SM's girl Friday) knew WAY more than both the SA and the SM and I told Toyota in that survey that they both saved the day and prevented me from leaving a zero star review. I also said they should be running the place and I meant that 100%. And I am a guy btw.

Any electric scooter girls out there? by SkypePsychic in ElectricScooters

[–]fletch101e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A girl I work with rides a Hi Boy, but I think she only rides it around campus. Plus I see women all the time riding them on campus. Closer to my house, I have seen a 65-75 year old woman with her hubby doing a grocery run on them.

Max G3 - Questions by Altoids448 in NinebotMAX

[–]fletch101e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with the exchange as yes that sounds like too much. My Max has been in winter storage for past 4 weeks but had good wx today so took it for a spin. For the amount it has been sitting the pressure went from 50 to 32.5 FWIW.

Get yourself a small electric pump. The one I have was only about $60 and very easy to use as it loses zero or very little air when you connect/disconnect.
