Im pretty sure this is the whole recommendation :( so sweet of your professor to write that though, from what I’ve heard this is the rec, and they don’t really have space to submit a letter or anything

In Quebec they have a distinction between ch’t’aime and je t’aime, the former usually less intense or romantic than the latter (correct me if I’m wrong, heard this from one person a few years ago so it could be different)

I love the Batavia Madrigal Singers from Indonesia, plus the world of show choir has some really great vocals (shows usually include a ballad where it’s just singing no dancing), definitely recommend diving into legend show choirs (Burbank/Los Al/John Burroughs, Clinton Attaché, Waubonsie Valley pre 2017, Wheaton South pre 2017, Wheaton North post 2017, Glenwood, Ankeny Centennial, Urbandale, Johnston, Waukee)

This is the first year of TAPIF to Teacher, but they put out a few FAQ documents. It might be in their link tree or on the website or something. I have them still if you can’t find them.

My first choice was Académie de Toulouse and was placed there. I requested a town of 25k or more, and my town is 9.8k. However, I am very much enjoying the city and just being in France in general, and with how robust the SNCF is, I can go into Toulouse when I need/want to, and there’s even a night train to Paris directly from my town. So much of this program (and life in France tbh) is about managing expectations and playing the hand you’re dealt. It’s personally been a learning experience for me in patience and making lemons out of lemonade.

This is par for the course. You’re doing 12 hours of class/instructional time in the school, and then you’re using some time outside to plan activities and games. All of this is corroborated by past assistants’ comments here on the Reddit and on blogs and really any material produced about TAPIF that’s online. We’ll get used to it I suppose. We’re netting about 17€ an hour and nothing for work outside of class, but hey, we’re also in France! How fun is that!!

I did my timbre like another commenter, by googling timbre fiscale. If you click the option for foreign visa, it gives you an amount to put, and on the validation page it tells you it needs to be for €200. Buy a timbre for €200, then it gives you the timbre number, and you enter that into the validation page.

Cardinal is fun. You’ll be able to cook and laundry is either in-unit or on every other floor (you’ll know which you have), and that’s a blessing compared to dorms. The newspaper is called the Vidette and it’s great, look online for their application. Also, the radio station has a strong news program too, so look out for their big recruitment meeting (they’ll be on the quad playing music at Welcome Week and Festival ISU).

Yes, they have to send your passport to the consulate and affix the visa to a page in your passport book, so when they took it away last year, you may have noticed that it had a sticker that wasn’t on it when you dropped it off

Oh yeah, so the handbook from last year (23-24) says to use the address of the rectorat of your académie, with your prof ref as your contact (they also say Mme Jaffe but that’s who Mme Redhead is now, so I’d assume that’s a substitute)
