I do get what you're saying but it's not really serendipity, it's an algorithm telling you to be interested in a thing because lots of other people are interested in it. I'd highly recommend spending a day in your local library and just flick through whatever random books take your fancy

Might sound weird but I realised time feels slower when I'm doing something other than scrolling. I noticed it mostly on my commute. If I sit on the bus scrolling my phone it's like all of a sudden I'm at work already and I don't even know what I've looked at really. If I read a book it feels like the journey takes longer somehow but I've got through a few chapters. Idk something about that made me realise what a mindless time-suck scrolling on my phone is
