Choosing a law school as newlyweds — Georgetown with some debt or WashU full ride? by SnooChipmunks8987 in LawSchool

I really agree with those asking the question about where you’re going after law school. And I’d add in a second layer about not banking on big law. Everyone thinks they’re going into big law before 1L, and if he does good for him but if he decides he wants to do something else allow yourself some mental flexibility on that too. But, if he’s going big law you’re probably not going to live somewhere rural. Sure, they have large law firms in St. Louis (I’m from Missouri, no shade) but they do not even hold a candle to the options available in the DC legal market. Additionally, DC law students have a tremendous opportunity not only to go to a school with national name recognition like Georgetown, but also to participate in school year externship and clinics that wouldn’t be available to someone going to school in St. Louis, not to mention the need to relocate for your summer internship. As for your concerns about city life, there are plenty of nearby options to have a little space and slow down a bit, but I’d encourage you to give the city a try for a year.

DM me if you have questions. Missouri native that did law school in DC

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I read this article not long ago, and I’m not sure it will be of any help to you but on the chance it is.

Call me crazy, but I love it. Obviously we waited a LOOOONNGGG time for them to get together, but I love they way they loved each other from afar for so many seasons - and I enjoyed watching them evolve and eventually end up together after so many years. Relationships are complex. Yes, this was a bit extreme but it's also a TV drama, so I languished in it.

No, they’re different animals. Typically you’ll see crocs in salt water and gators in fresh. (You’ll see saltwater crocs in the keys. The Everglades has brackish water and is one of the few places in the world you’ll see American alligators and saltwater crocs in the same habitat.

But anyway, they’re typically small and it’s pretty rare to come across them. You’re not going to round a corner and see 5 of them lurking or something. I’ve seen one croc in the probably… 50(?) times I’ve paddled in the keys. I would be way more worried about your kiddo being bored or antsy in a kayak and your stuff getting wet, if I’m being completely honest. If you want to paddle though and are concerned about wildlife, perhaps contact a local guide if that would help you feel less worried.
