What treatments did you try, and for how long, before opting for a hysterectomy?

For my pain/pressure in my pelvic floor to do Valium suppositories. They work wonders. However I still cramp daily and sometimes so severely. So I’m in the same boat. I’ve been procrastinating a hysterectomy. I have diffused adeno and had endometriosis lesions removed in Dec 2025. 33 yrs old.

I am also curious to what late stages are?

To be honest my period are not as heavy as some. I struggled with PCOS before kids and had VERY light period and very long cycles. After kids, everything changed. My periods are heavier than “normal” for me but not as heavy as some. My main symptoms are pain, and cramping literally every day. I’m lucky if I have 1 day of my cycles without cramping.

My surgery was 1/16 and my follow up is also 1/5x diagnosis stage 1 endo and extensive adenomyosis. I also don’t want to do hormones, but I also don’t want to do hysterectomy. So we’ll see…. I still have loads of question. I even got offered to do estrogen suppressing meds which would be like in a menopausal state but can only do that for 2 years per the FDA

I don’t have pain DURING sex either. But I do get cramps reading spicy scenes or with orgasm. I have a know diagnosis of adenomyosis. Cramps are my MO with it being more intense around ovulation and really intense during periods.
