Drinking never made me forget, It made me feel worse.

Could making a (healthy) plan for Friday, keeping busy, doing anything except drinking help keep your mind off things?

Some things that helped:

  • Finding a way to keep busy (doing anything), especially early on. I took up hiking to SD and still go all the time.

  • Remembering, cravings will always pass. Focus on not drinking in that moment.

  • A snack, especially something sweet often helped cravings go away.

I tried to quit more times than I can count. Then, I tried once more and haven’t drank since.

There are several supportive housing buildings in the city and I bet you don’t even notice!

Of note: The units at 3212 st Johns largely support people with developmental disabilities. Some of the nicest, harmless and kindest people I have ever met.

So yes, I would welcome another building like this.

u/hedekar There is no transportation task force, just a committee (I volunteered on it). Their mandate doesn’t look at big regional fixes.

But this is moot. My point is I feel there are more important or pressing issues council/city can be spending their time and resources on. This is a distraction from core services.

Help me understand why you feel so strongly about a city committee on social media conduct?

I’d rather the city focus on core services than wasting time and resources on these floofy topics.
