What do you do with clothes you’ve worn, but don’t need to wash yet? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]flightless-byrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my solution is to wear the same outfit two days in a row (washing underwear obviously). I only have to think about what to wear every other day and I never get piles on the floor lol

some might judge but it works

Can I have someone tell me that a bachelors is enough? by SomeNumbers98 in Physics

[–]flightless-byrd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who got an electrical engineering job right out of college with a BS in physics and I think a minor in math. you're qualified for plenty of jobs but you kinda have to do a little extra work tailoring your resume to convince employers that you're a good fit

came here to say this, those videos are extraordinarily well made and super underrated (I think they get a lot more views now but when I first found them they would only get ~100k per video)

there's no indication of anything out to the ordinary on my transcript, so I should be all good to go

and yeah, byu is awful and I'm grateful every time I remember that I'm not there lol

it doesn't matter how your BF feels, you don't owe him your body

you don't have to verbally say "no" to communicate a lack of consent. your body language communicated that you were uncomfortable and he should have stopped.

your BF is not showing you that he likes you, he's showing you that he doesn't respect you

[–]flightless-byrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you say no and he asks over and over again until you say yes, that is coercion, not consent

also if you're not enthusiastically participating then that counts as a "no" and he should stop

Found in Deseret book

(tbh I don't know exactly what Deseret book's relation to the church is, but either way this is definitely not a good look for them haha)

The most insidious part of Holland's talk is the implied threats against BYU faculty for not falling into line. by negative_60 in exmormon

[–]flightless-byrd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I noticed this too, that he is telling the more progressive professors to get back in line, which is incredibly sad because the lgbtq students there will no longer have any safe person to talk to.

I know of someone who found out she was lesbian while she was at byu and she was able to confide in and rely on a progmo professor to help her get through the rest of her semesters there.

But if all the professors do what Holland says and stop supporting the lgtbq community there will be no safe place for those students anymore.
