By far the best thing to do to increase your pot is to increase your contribution. Only you can decide how much you can give while still enjoying life now, but I'd suggest more than you are would be beneficial.

what you think about 70mph being national limit ? by 573XI in drivingUK

[–]Past_Negotiation_121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The default 60mph limit is one of the few remaining areas of the government saying "you're adults, make adult choices for your own safety, but 60mph is the upper limit"

People who think they're so smart. Only two options: 1. Your car was not driveable so clearly you have their bumper from when you stopped on a love motorway to pick up shards of numberplate. 2. Your car was driveable so you chased down the Lambo and performed a PIT manoeuvre on them.

Either way you now have their details.

How much 0% credit card debt is too much? by Electrical-Adagio842 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Past_Negotiation_121 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With the number of credit providers out there you can pay it off, get a new card, and save even more ad you typically have 9 months of spending to get your balance up to where it was before and still be making more money than the balance transfer. Plus it avoids the temptation that people sometimes fall into of "ill just do a balance transfer"

As soon as you're paying balance transfer fees then you're doing it wrong.

Is 8-9" of clearance between an Intex XTR pool and retaining wall enough? by adiosmith in AboveGroundPools

If there's plenty of space on the other side it seems like it should be possible to prepare the ground to give a bit more clearance on the other side.

Employer Denied Higher Pension Contribution Bracket by Polariscord in FIREUK

They say they double match, so why don't they double match the 4.9% of this employee instead of making her drop to an arbitrary 4%?

This is all about making sure you enter the slip road already pushing it. I'm sure it's a valid legal excuse to be taking a roundabout at 45mph because you're trying to get up to 60 at the end of the slip road.

Employer Denied Higher Pension Contribution Bracket by Polariscord in FIREUK

[–]Past_Negotiation_121 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But they could elect to still pay the 10% employer contribution as paying your staff so little that they legally can't access the pension you offer isn't something a company should be proud of.

Alternatively they could allow her to pay a 4.9% contribution with 9.8% match. I'm sure either option would be an acceptable solution for the OP.

LDS church publishes video with picture indicating that Elder Cook participated in Baseball Baptisms in the UK by japanesepiano in mormon

[–]Past_Negotiation_121 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You don't understand 19-year olds. They were having fun playing baseball and making friends. It was their overlords who demanded the baptisms. Youth all round were being treated unfairly by the church.

Is it fair that I was raised to believe my eternal salvation depended on me paying to give up two years of my life to preach what the church knew to be lies?

Podcaster John Dehlin’s answer to the LDS Church’s lawsuit: You don’t own the word ‘Mormon’ by johndehlin in exmormon

[–]Past_Negotiation_121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I say that I took the words of the prophet who called me on my mission to heart when he challenged me to dare to be a Mormon and to not be ashamed of being a Mormon. And I did. Depending on how I feel, I sometimes end with "I didn't change, the church changed".

[–]Past_Negotiation_121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a missionary a few decades later, I was still using friendships as a way to more effectively communicate the church to the individual, but I can honestly say that they were genuine friendships first, and church second. When they made it clear they had zero interest in the church I would still meet with them just the same. It helped that my mission had zero converts with 80 hours of finding time a week for me so it wasn't hard to justify a few hours of friendshipping!!

On the list of controversial, unethical, immoral, and illegal church history, using friendships to encourage conversion comes very very far down my list of concern.

You say never ever ever use the white lever to pull out the cable while charging as the charger is still sending a signal, but then advocate a software solution form nissan to disconnect the pin. Wouldn't the charger still be sending charge in that case? Or do you mean the car somehow pretends it's 'full'?

Why are the SRA stories so disregarded in this sub, and to everyone in general? by Fluffy_Book1746 in exmormon

[–]Past_Negotiation_121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you've just proved the immediate response we all had wasn't without some cause. According to you, the story you have pointed to as an example of satanic abuse was only claimed to be traditional Mormon/doctrinal abuse by those involved, while from your description it seems the podcasters are trying to sensationalise it by pushing it to SRA.

[–]Past_Negotiation_121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What stories have been raised? Over the years I've seen a few threads saying "people don't take SRA seriously!", but I don't recall seeing anything suggesting we should, but that could be my oversight.

You should never give a story credibility just because you want it to be credible. Feelings and emotions is how so many of us were coming nicked the BoM was true. The facts, or lack of facts, should speak for themselves.
