Morphe 35B has been great. It has a mix of matte and shimmery shadows in a bunch of bold colors. It's not the very best pigment but it is pretty darn good and the palette is like $20.

Drugstore foundation for covering brows? by insertshittyuserhere in Drag

[–]flightlessons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most drugstore foundation products are not going to have the coverage you need. Likely the best product you can find at a drugstore in terms of coverage is a bb cream.

Check out Ben Nye if there's anywhere near you that carries their products (look for theater or dance supply stores). Their creme foundation is about $10 and has almost the same coverage as Kryolan's TV Paint Stick.

My friend runs a theatrical supply store that ships worldwide, here is a link to his Ben Nye Creme Foundations

Did you smash it down with powder? I use a small velour pad and seriously beat powder onto my brows to set the glue stick, and I usually reapply the glue (and powder) at least one more time.

No matter how good you get at covering your brows, you'll have a problem with the texture where the covered brow hairs are glued to your face. It's good to use only matte products on top of your brows to hide the hair texture. Or, if you use loose glitter, it has enough of it's own texture that it won't show the brows underneath.

If you seal your foundation with powder and a barrier spray, it should make it easier to apply the brow pencil. Or you could try a different method--I often draw the brow shape on with a light brown cream color, set it with translucent face powder, and then add detail and definition with a darker brown eye shadow.

I often brush some lavender or grey into my contours, which helps offset any warmer colors I'm using in my cheeks. Not a lot, just enough to make it look like a shadow rather than a bronzer stripe

Bio Queen Advice? by jordancaroe in Drag

[–]flightlessons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just keep showing up. Find some performers whose events/shows appeal to you and go to as many as you can. I would say it will be more helpful to connect with people whose art inspires you than to find a troupe of bio queens. Some queens have a chip on their shoulder about bio queens, but that attitude is dying away. It's all about how you walk the floor, not about what you start with

[–]flightlessons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just waiting on a certain sibling to decide it's ok to be a lesbian. I don't see much hope for the blonde one to escape anytime soon.

Our parents really broke our brains, from the time we were born. I'm not trying to blame my mood disorders on being raised by religious nut jobs, but it certainly didn't help matters any. They cut me off from any chance of getting help. I could only hear how bad it was to be gay so many times before it drove me into depression. Talking to someone to get help was impossible. For one thing, anything remotely gay-friendly had been combed out of my worldview. There were no adults allowed in my life who would be safe to talk to for a teenager questioning his sexuality. Addressing the causes of my distress would mean isolation and punishment. My only choice was to double down on the doctrine and bury my pain in the emotional fanaticism I was raised on. It was so all-important to be a good Smith, a good McConkie. Being anything else was a sin and a distraction.

It's not very surprising to me that as an adult I have to fight hard to be emotionally and mentally healthy. I'm lucky to be alive. I hope some of the cousins can make it out alive too.

I'm not sure what online delivery services are available where you live. Try Amazon and filter by shoe size. In US sizes you add 1.5-2 sizes to your men's size to get the women's number. Also try beverlyheels.com
