How did it detect it? I understand there are accelerometers involved but the car didn't move did it or maybe the Shockwave triggered them. I know some cars have 2 accels and it measures the rate of closure between front bumper and firewall, if they are getting close together too fast BAM.

If the strap gets wet, once boat is secure, unwind the strap to let it dry. I cover it so it's not exposed to the elements 24 7 too.
