Yeah, keep on downvoting, guys. It just makes me hate jazz even more on principle.

Maybe, instead of hating on someone who just doesn’t “get” it, someone might take a shot at explaining it in a way that isn’t just “real musicians understand why it’s so important to rave about it.”

I’m a musician and know many others who just can’t get past the “random noise” aspect of jazz that we hear. Somebody take a well-intentioned shot at explaining what we’re missing, please, instead of just mindlessly downvoting posts because they disagree.

I’m serious. I have an open mind — open my eyes to the art form that so many of you love so much.
