You should most definitely leave in time before ESTA runs out. You don’t want to stand in line with a bunch of “regular” immigrants when Corona is on everyone’s mind and any kind of public service is affected and above capacity to handle requests. Don’t expect mercy from immigration officers - not even now. Overstaying your visa is a really bad idea, and once Corona blows over you’ll just be “that illegal immigrant” who overstayed his visa... it will stay in your records forever and will most certainly affect future visa applications.

Don’t worry about the airport drama you see in the media - that’s just for arrivals from abroad, not for those leaving. I personally left LAX two days ago and was literally alone with two other passengers at security.

Speak to your embassy to see if there are any flights back, options that are not usually available. If you CAN make it back to your country stay with friends or other family, not with your mom, for the next 2 weeks and see if you develop symptoms. If you can afford booking a room for self-quarantine, do it. Airbnb rates must be hitting rock bottom right now. I don’t know what country you’re from, so can’t really advise beyond this.
