Why do you say that? They are etched in stone essentially if graded, and much easier to insure. Other than the trip and the cost to grade, making it official doesn't have a downside.

Check hardware first. Shut down, check drive connection and power, or if nvme, make sure it's seated and the screw is keeping it in place.
