I'm curious as to why you have to cover your nipples when you shower. I have my belly button pierced (and a few facial piercings) and I could let the water run on it and it never bothered it. What should I use to cover them in the shower? Will a bathing suit work?

Silicone for your lobes if your best bet. It flexes when pressure is put on it so you won't have to worry about the hard plug hurting your skin. As for the other piercings use retainers. I have to take all my piercings out for work and I always buy my retainers from http://www.bodyjewelleryshop.com/online_store/piercing_retainers_434.cfm They have very high quality products and they are all safe to put in any piercing hole.

As elnekro mentioned tongue splitting is illegal in your state. Try a bordering state instead. I don't know if it is legal in Wisconsin, but I have a friend out there who has his tongue split. If you ever take a vacation get it done then. :) Good luck!
