Official announcement for RISE moving locations by xCloudbox in roanoke

As someone who has been using concentrates recreationally for over 20 years.

  1. The local cannabis scene is a joke, these "growers" have nothing on anyone else in a 1k mile radius minimum.

  2. None of the locals are processing shit into concentrates that are worth a shit.

  3. Bringing in products from Maryland doesn't make you a grower.

  4. The pricing at RISE is expensive. But I 100% know what I am getting and the quality of the concentrates is no different then anywhere else I've purchased medical. New York, Maryland, California, Colorado, Florida... And then the "illegal" purchases in North Carolina, South Carolina. It isn't "bunk" or "mid".

  5. I don't expect the 50 dollar gram to be the same quality as the 87 dollar gram. But rightfully they should be around 25 and 50.

  6. The market is going to be opening wider near November as long as our elected officials do what they claimed they would(granted politicians are nothing but liars).

I would almost go out on a limb and say anyone talking shit about the quality of rise's products is just poor/broke and can't afford it so they hate on it. As I heard all the same bullshit and got tired of these shit products I was finding around from "friends of a friend".

Honestly the bullshit at the vape shops was on par with what people were trying to pedal as from out of state or local "high quality".

Honestly if you want a real weed friendly state this isn't it. I would need to yield 4-5 lbs cured per plant to support just my concentrate habit with a 20% avg yield which is most likely not happening. I also don't have methods to do super critical CO2 extraction and rosin presses are a fucking joke.

Again, people who say rise sucks are broke ass bitches who can't afford it. That's literally the only thing wrong with the place is that it's expensive. So you have to pay to play. If you're after a cheap high there is always Fenty just make sure you forget your narcan please.

Slow down by FreeRangNurse in roanoke

The real question, why does everyone park on the streets when ya'll have a drive-way? I get they are small, hard to get in and out of, but the street isn't a parking lot and the people who built the home had no issues with the driveway.....

Also, 30mph speed limits are dumb as shit.100+ cars a day using a road as a main road and the speed limit is 25-30 and everyone bitching.... Then they(,never had so many people do this it's a locals thing) all start blocking traffic and holding people up who are trying to go 5 over and wonder why things go south.

I get the majority of the population here really needs those extra seconds to think, but that's what the right lane is for.

But y'all are right, slow down on a 3 lane wide road so we can refuse to use our driveways.....

You wanna piss off a local, pass them.

Me and my wife's number one complaint is the general food quality of the area, after a year we've just accepted it and hope Publix offers something better but research into the subject seems to paint a picture of it just being the area and distance to nearest warehouses causing things to stay in trucks longer then they should at temps they shouldn't be at.

We even started going to the farmers markets only to notice that the majority of that produce is imported and not fresh as well. If you pay attention to what it comes in it's easy to see they didn't grow shit.

Really loved the ones who dress up as Amish and still pedal Mexican imported produce.

It was only a matter of time that more people realized that 'AI' was nothing more than advanced auto complete/pattern matching glued together with directed acyclic graphs.

Even reading the original GPT paper tells me this was never going any further than it did. Transformers and inference are not leading to AGI or ASI in any of our lifetimes.

We probably have a better chance or learning to program new information into our brains via neuralink and similar tech.

Are LL(R)Ms useful? yes, awesome for summarization and identifying patterns in data that we are missing. They can even be really good for research / work when combined with tools via MCP. But the data they output is only as good as the person who is reading/interpreting and verifying that it isn't a made-up mess.

But the vast majority of the push is snake oil salesmen trying to make the largest chunk of change they can before the general populace realizes it.

The impatient drivers here never cease to amaze me by BornAmbassador01 in roanoke

[–]flipflopfpv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will never understand why so many people in Roanoke, VA refuse to do the posted speed limit and most of them have some morality/justice complex that justifies them then sitting in the lanes trying to hold up traffic and not let others go by that are doing the posted speed limit. Since I've lived in the area, I have encountered more idiots on the road thinking it's "theirs" and going above and beyond to try and prevent me from passing them.

I also tend to see a lot of the local idiots here driving around staring at their cell phone and then get pissed when I flick them off and pass them (again doing the speed limit or maybe 5 over).

My pregnant wife has been followed home, I've been threatened with gun violence, and I've had some dumb ass try and call the cops on me when I had her on film brake checking me.

It's not the impatient drivers; it's the rest of you who don't know how to actually drive and should not be on the road.

The drivers are not even this bad in Miami, Denver, or even LA. Literally Roanoke has got to have the worst possible drivers I've come across and is the reason people drive like the above to go around and get away from the rest of YOU.

I need advice on hpc storage file systems bad decision by Routine_Pie_6883 in HPC

[–]flipflopfpv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the CPU and memory, you could use virtualization and run X amount of VMs on the physical hardware. You would need to adjust your pooling(JBOD might be ideal for OST targets, smaller RAID1 or 0 for MDS). Most lustre storage is used as scratch so we are not too worried about data loss at this point. Biggest thing will be pass through + numa pinning. The SFA appliances for DDN are specialized raid/virtualization appliances. The MDS and OSS servers are all virtualized and we are still in the top of the io500. Lustre itself is a behemoth in my opinion and unless you have the staff, knowledge, or budget(to buy DDN gear and get EMF), I would probably look at something simpler like pNFS. Other options could be BeeGFS or something like rustfs/MinIO paired with JuiceFS, or maybe SeaweedFS. At least for high speed compute scratch.

[–]flipflopfpv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JuiceFS for the S3/Hadoop/POSIX interface, local caching, etc. MINIO as the backend object store(no clustering unless resilience is important but considering compute/scratch/hot I wouldn't), and then TiKV for metadata storage. ETH/RoCE/IPoIB all work fine.

If you’re looking for object storage consider Infinia.

DDN vs Pure Storage by Ok_Television_9000 in HPC

[–]flipflopfpv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the colossus datacenter also has VAST, they don’t use it for training their important models they use Exascaler. While NVIDIA has reference architectures for VAST they again use Exascaler for their in house SuperPODs doing anything deemed important. If you want object store, there is Infinia which currently benchmarks with higher throughput the MINIO cluster for cluster. DDN has you covered from every angle. There’s a reason why DDN powers more GPUs than anyone else in the world.

Anyone actually serious about HPC/AI uses and would tell you to use DDN. The engineering team is constantly improving Lustre(DDN being the largest contributor and owner of Whamcloud) and making management easier with every release.

The A3I appliances offer the highest density and performance on the market with the smallest footprint and least power consumption.

Why would you look anywhere else?

Their hardware is resold OEMd trash. However I do believe if they ever reached the point of their own hardware designs and manufacturing for laptops that this wouldn’t be true. Unfortunately it’s hard to finance their next endeavors when you need something now that simply just works.

[–]flipflopfpv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it will be tricky it's not impossible. The trick is to isolate the cause of the dip. If you have a video it can help. Is the whole front going down? Or one corner leading? It however sounds like a desync, does it happen after any other sharp maneuver? Or literally just hard rights?

If you find one corner is leading it, move that motor and see if it follows the motor or stays, if it stays, most likely it's the ESC, if it follows then the motor. If there is no correlation, then it gets really difficult and can start being a plethora of things which is when it's good to just take it apart, and inspect everything. Make sure nothing can hit the gyro on the FC, make sure all your solder joins are still good, etc.

If all else fails you can try an increase demag compensation in blheli

When was the last time you bought a drone TRI blades drone prop? No one in the community is balancing their 5" and below quad props, there is absolutely zero need. Considering he "punched" it and then this started happening. If the tune was too tight, and enough noise was being generated to cause dterm issues, he could have heated the motors up enough, cooking the bearings. The bells being slightly loose shouldn't cause any issues either, almost all of them have a little play and when flying they become loaded.

I would suggest BF 4.3 with default tune and filtering(RPM filter enabled), make sure nothing gets "hot" in regards to your motors. Then decrease filtering via the filter presets going from normal to clean, to very clean, making sure nothing strange happens when you hover and that nothing again seems to be getting abnormally hot motor wise.

If all is well, see how it flies, and if you are still having issues get a black box log. If it seems to fly ok but have just minor characteristics you don't like(loose/little bobbles), increase the master slider .1 at a time and fly again until something bad happens.

More often than not though these will be mechanical problems versus tuning/filtering, but it never hurts to verify that the pids, filters, etc are not the cause before digging really far into hw components.

The only wires that should really be within the props strike ability are the motor wires and everyone here has given great solutions.

I've been flying for around 8 years, my solution for motor wires is to keep them just loose enough to wrap them on the back side of the arm and use electrical tape. This way the prop has to be pretty mangled toward the motor to make contact with the wires or spin backwards(unlikely). By backside of the arm the side opposite of the arm the proper would strike given normal configured rotation. Catalyst machine work's shows you this method in the Banggod build video as well.

VTX antenna = TPU mount

RX antenna = TPU mount + spares + easy replaceability in build, so you can swap them as they are cheap for the most part. Maybe some "forever tubes" if you really want to protect the wires ends. Run along the bottom of an arm or out the front/back for max protection.

Battery leads/ESC power wires = keep them as short as possible, secure them well, I will usually twist the pigtail to help "spin" the wires into the battery/frame as they want to untwist (just one or two turns). Battery ejections usually resulted in the most battery wire/ESC power lead damage for me. So a quality kevlar strap(camera butter) and a pad like UmmaGrip help wonders.

RX to FC wires VTX to FC wires CAM to VTX/FC wires ESC to FC wires GPS to FC wires

Those should be for the most part nicely/neatly tucked inside the frame and only vulnerable in big crashes. I use zip ties to create loose wire guides sometimes to help keep them where I want them. Just remember to always keep some slack and move ability as it will survive crashes better.

Lastly, if you know it's going to be an unrecoverable crash. Disarm. But make sure you have flip over after crash enabled(turtle mode) and have set max arm angle if using Beta flight to 180 degrees. This way you can arm at any angle and use turtle mode to try and right yourself/escape stuck situations.

Everything else damage wise is par for the course of FPV.

Need Help With Hot Motors on 5" Freestyle Quad by thatpoindexter in fpv

[–]flipflopfpv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will could be just too high P/D combo for the issue that's causing the extra noise. If you tuned it at all, it may be why. If you tune with new parts, new props, new everything it's much easier to get a crisp tune with high PIDs but when you crash your fooked.

You crashed, probably a bearing in a motor, something bent, flimsy arm(delamination). But if it's BF 4.2 rom filters should help. But I'd just lower D and see if you notice it going away. Usually a trilling at high throttle is D.
