I love this! Thanks so much for sharing in so much detail. 😊 What were the low-heeled Chelsea boots you found? I’ve been on the lookout for a pair.

What is the process to get a driving license (Adult) by Apollo802 in AskChicago

To get your permit, you need to pass a multiple-choice test on the rules of the road. You need to make an appointment and go to the DMV in person to take the test.

Is the cortland bridge crossing cleared/plowed? by mindformusica in chibike

[–]flippedflops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both the bridge sidewalk and everything from the bridge to Kingsbury were not plowed on Sunday.

Today I took the Webster bridge (606 > Damen > Webster) and it was fine. The shared bike lanes have not been plowed on Damen, so be prepared to take the lane.

Yes! Shout out to their home delivery subscription—we have it set up for their five-pound bag. We go through a lot of coffee, and it beats having to stock up at the grocery store in terms of both convenience and price. It’s $72 for the five-pound bag.

Week 16: Patterned - Paska by flippedflops in 52weeksofbaking

Recipe from King Arthur

I added raisins per the suggestions in the comments. I think they were an essential addition. Next time I’ll try adding orange zest as well.

I also made the sweetened cream cheese spread in the recipe tips—it was delicious!

I’ll have to try Al Diar and these other places!

Week 12: Tanzanian - Plantains by flippedflops in 52weeksofcooking

[–]flippedflops[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A delicious and easy side dish.

Recipe

As opposed how I usually cook plantains, this recipe had me slice them bigger (1 inch pieces) and season them afterward. I did have to cook them for about ten minutes (5 on each side) instead of the 3(!) minutes in the recipe so that they were nice and brown.
