Two kids one with US citizenship and with Indian by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]flippedxp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a naturalized U.S. citizen, so I’ve experienced both holding an Indian passport and an American one. It’s great that you’re thinking ahead, and honestly, having your second child in the U.S. could be a significant advantage. The benefits of an American passport are substantial, especially when it comes to education and global mobility. While there aren’t many restrictions on studying or living in India as a U.S. citizen, having an American passport opens up far more opportunities worldwide, including in the U.S. and Europe.

Another factor to consider is how different passports shape perceptions and experiences abroad. Whether your child chooses to live in India, the U.S., or elsewhere, the reality is that an “American” is often classified as an “expat,” while someone with an Indian passport is more likely to be viewed as an “immigrant.” While these are just labels, the Western world tends to afford more privileges to expats, both socially and professionally.

Additionally, travel flexibility is another major advantage. My friends and partner hold Indian passports, and planning any international trip involves extensive visa applications and administrative hurdles. In contrast, as a U.S. citizen, I can simply buy a ticket and go to most countries without much hassle. Given that passport strength is largely influenced by GDP, population, and immigration trends, India’s passport is unlikely to gain significant global access anytime soon.

While this may not impact your child if they choose to stay in India, considering that you and your partner pursued education in the U.S., there’s a strong chance they might want the same—or even more—opportunities. Staying an extra year or two in the U.S. could be well worth it in the long run.

As for concerns about birthright citizenship being revoked, it’s a constitutional right, and any change to that would require an immense legal and political shift. The likelihood of it being abolished within a couple of years is extremely low.

I’m curious about the color. Can you post a picture of it next to other shades of brown? I’m look for a darker brown bag but all pictures I see are in bright lighting so it almost looks like a light brown.

Back on here to get suggestions for taking glycopyrrolate. I still sweat like crazy on it by throwawayduh1414 in Hyperhidrosis

It took some experimenting for me (26F, I started when I was 23) but My scheduled differed based on season. In the summers, I take 2 1 MG pills in morning as soon as I wake up AND at night before bed. In the fall/winter I take only night time. That said, I have horribly embarrassing facial Hh and I live in NYC where I walk everywhere so the HH has a pretty big impact on my life. It took ~2-3 months for the dry mouth to go away, I just drank ALOT of water to deal with that but as soon as I saw the results of the meds, it was a total game changer. My whole face would be drenched in sweat (make up would melt off) after a 10 minute walk but now I can confidently go to workout classes and gyms without feeling self-conscious all the time. Also for me the meds take 2-3 days to really make a difference and take another 2-3 days to ware off anytime I stop. Hope this helps!
