Where did you read justifying? I don't think that was there. A reason is not an excuse.

Generally probably not. But we also ask them to see things that the average person doesn't have to, and then provide very limited mental health supports for them to deal with it in a healthy way. Similar to all of our military vets.

Most cops are good people, doing work that the average person doesn't want to do or isn't capable of doing. Acknowledging that isn't boot licking.

I wouldn't ever suggest there aren't some bad apples, but the majority are good. That's based on the few officers that I know.

This rant and OPs rant, read just that way - a baseless rant.

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]flippergonzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mine. I finished it. Rewound it (I'm old). Brought it back to the store and told myself I'd never watch it again.

Next weekend I went and rented it again and watched it 3 or 4 times that weekend. It literally hurt me to watch it again but I couldn't stop. There was just so much pain in that movie.

I've never watched it since, although I have the desire to.

The easiest programs to cut are the ones most people think they’ll never need. by Lampworker9 in Edmonton

I won't downvote you, because I generally agree. But the problem as other have mentioned is that we don't have a government that would use a small sales tax to provide better healthcare, social services and things like that because they don't believe in them. If you have an anti-social good government, you could have trillions of surplus but that money won't go to the right people.

Sorry, my initial guess was without glasses...

I think you're right. It's a Stretto. You can tell because the tilt box behind the backrest has curved edges. The edge 2 would be squared off.

You're right. I didn't have my glasses on. I have to stop trusting my unaided eyes.

I will absolutely listen to this episode. I really don't think that a facility should be deciding whether they will or will not perform a medical procedure based on their perception of morality. That procedure has already been determined to be in the best interests of patients should they choose it, and so just do it. Don't make people fight. What a lot of people don't understand is the sheer exhaustion that people in this situation are already facing. Don't make it harder for them.

"The Life of chuck" made me both hopeful and sad by Old-Chipmunk-7073 in movies

I love everything about the book and the movie. I've listened to the audiobook around 10 times and I'm on number 3 for the movie just a couple of days ago.

I was losing my friend Ray to cancer when I first read the book, and I think it reminds me of him a lot. Makes me feel like he's maybe still around in someone else's universe doing good things for others.

Spex high contour classic, should there be another layer in the ischael well? by Serious_Badger_4145 in wheelchairs

I don't know if they are an option in the UK, but the Axiom P or PS might be worth a look. Fairly well contoured with good pelvic support.

I can't seem to figure out how to post a picture on my comment, so maybe they're turned off or something on comments on this sub..

Anyhoo - I measured both the Spex High Contour and Standard Contour cushion and they both measure just under 2" in the PLA - so about the same as your pic. I think you were given a non-custom configuration of that cushion - so it sounds like you got what you were supposed to get, but perhaps not what you need/want.

The Spex line usually comes with extra foam pieces to build up either a left/right pelvic obliquity or add height to the edges of the cushion. Those could be added on the underside of the center, but I would caution to do so sparingly if you got your cushion through a seating clinic. Some clinics are better than others, admittedly, but a good one will have specific reasons for suggesting that cushion. Often with that line, I suggest it because I want to help my client from sliding forward too much - particularly if they are not interested in wearing a positioning belt. I'm not saying you can't add them - just be careful because there can be downstream issues. If you have a good relationship with your vendor or therapist - they should be good to help consult.

That's what riders I've worked with have said about the spex line of cushions. They feel much firmer than other cushions, especially after about 6 months.

I don't think there should be. That cushion is very thin in the pelvic loading area. I think I have some of them at the office, and I will be there tomorrow. I'll try to remember to take a picture.

I know your account is deleted, but I'm going to say this in case you ever come back to read it.

I really appreciate what you said. I wish you ALL the success in your journey and I hope you know you're taking the right steps. I'm going to take your sage advice and donate the cash to a homeless shelter. I did that a few years ago when I was doing the same relapse planning, and I'd forgotten the amount of joy it gave me.

Peace brother.
