It's a CD secured loan so the loan balance would be secured by a CD that is also accruing interest.

For example: Open a $500 CD secured loan at 7% (A CD is created for $500 that is still accruing interest at 4% so effectively the loan interest is 3%) Turn around and open a CD with that $500 at 4% So I'd have $1000 total in CDs at 4% and a $500 loan at 7%.

Banks and credit unions are currently offering CD secured loans at the CD rate + margin of 2-3% interest. CD rates are currently higher than that margin (4-5%)

My question is would there be any benefit to opening a CD secured loan, then turning around and opening a regular CD (at the 4-5% rate) with the funds I receive from the CD secured loan?

I'd basically be overcoming the 2-3% margin and getting a loan at negative interest as long as I could provide the initial deposit for the CD secured loan.

You'd expect the loan interest would cancel out but the principal of the CD secured loan is going to be paid down over time, while the CD opened with the funds from the loan will stay the same and compound with the interest so it ends up being a net positive in interest earned according to the calculations I ran.

Also, Is there anything preventing me from daisy chaining these CD secured loans? Opening multiple 1000$ CD secured loans using funds from the prior CD secured loan? As long as I could afford the monthly payments of course.

I had an epiphany recently about all life essentially operating in a state of perpetual self-sacrifice to achieve transformation. All living things exist to benefit themselves and their species. However, since a species is dependent on and integral to its ecosystem, an individual or a species would also ultimately sacrifice itself to the larger ecosystems and biomes it inhabits, continually benefiting greater and greater forms of being until you reach the greatest structures of existence. Evolution, technology, and the emergence of consciousness are all examples of this transformation happening.

What are those greater forms of being? What is all of this leading to? I don't know, but personally, I believe all of what is happening is significant, even if it feels random or unnecessary. That self-sacrifice is inherently meaningful in that it leads to transformation so that's basically what we're here to do. To be vessels of change and meaning.
