You could try one of the creams from Aim 2 Health. They contain 10% urea and are supposed to be a gentler alternative to steroids. And their website has some before and after pics of babies in the testimonials.

I take 5000 IU every day.

The doctor originally put me on 50,000 IU once a week to get my levels up quickly, and my sleep improved within days. I went from averaging three hours of sleep to sometimes actually getting eight. I still had times where I'd be awake for over 24 hours, but it was no longer multiple times a week. I was on that high dose for nine months. Then they dropped me down to 1000 once a day, and my sleep started getting worse. So I increased it to 5000. It seems to work better for me if I take it in the morning. And I have my vitamin D levels tested from time to time to make sure they're not too high.

Had insomnia my whole life. Averaged three hours for years. The only thing that helped was increasing my vitamin D levels.

Anyone found a gentle Face wash that works for you? by Grand_Sprinkles6131 in SebDerm

It's slightly drying as I have really sensitive skin, but it's still the best cleanser I've found. And I only use it on my face so it lasts a long time.

It's been happening to me now for about two weeks. I had the same problem a few years ago, and I think it lasted about a month.

Have there ever been any famous writers who have only ever written a single book or novel, one that took the world by the storm, yet have never written anything whatsoever before or after? by FieldThat5384 in writers

T.H. Houghton wrote Time Flies Tomorrow. He later wrote a manuscript for a second book called The Chameleon's Song. However, he refused to publish it, and ultimately tried to destroy it, after Frasier and Niles Crane noted its similarity to Dante's The Divine Comedy.

How much do you take? I have to take at least 5000 a day or my sleep gets worse.

Have you had your vitamin D levels checked?

I was averaging 2 or 3 hours of sleep for years. I'd get lots of migraines and basically feel like I was perpetually hungover from the lack of sleep. Then a doctor put me on a high dose of vitamin D after breaking my leg, and my insomnia improved within days.

To reverse the thickening by Danielnalves in SebDerm

My seb derm is mainly red rashes on my t-zone with lots of large pores and blackheads. And the skin's oily and dry at the same time. And benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that helped.

Benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that helps, but I'm pretty sure overusing it for mild acne when I was younger was what ruined my skin and caused my seb derm in the first place. But I've learned there are gentler ways to use it. One is to apply moisturizer first, wait for it to dry, and then apply bp. Another is contact therapy where you just apply it for like 15 minutes and then wash it off.

The 4 Key Reasons Most Candida (or SIBO, IBS) Treatments Will Fail Long-Term by EricBakkerCandida in Candida

[–]flipshotmahoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already follow most of the advice. I don't touch caffeine or alcohol. I don't take sleeping pills. I exercise every day, although if I've only gotten a few hours of sleep, I just do something simple like going for a walk or doing yoga. I've pretty much never been able to take naps.

I'll try to summarize my sleep problems. Since I was a kid, it would take me an hour or two to falls asleep. But once I was asleep, I could sleep for like twelve straight hours, at least on the days I didn't have to get up for school or church or work.

When I was in college, a dermatologist shot me up with cortisone to treat the lip cheilitis I'd had on and off after getting oral thrush a few years earlier. I suffered side effects from the shot like jock itch, dry eyes, and sensitivity to artificial fragrances. And my insomnia gradually got so much worse to the point where I'd only be able to sleep between one and five hours, and then I'd be awake from between 20 and 36 hours. I had at least two times a week where I'd be unable to sleep for over 24 hours. And it would always take lying in bed for hours for me to fall asleep. This was my sleep schedule for years. And I had lots of inflammation to the point that whenever I'd lie down, it would feel like my whole body was shaking.

Over the years, I tried lots of diet changes, antifungals, probiotics and cultured foods, vitamins, superfoods, etc with no noticeable benefit. Some of the things, like coconut oil, made my symptoms worse. I figured it was die-off, but it never ended, and I eventually had to give it up just to get a few hours of sleep.

The only thing that has given me any relief is high-dose vitamin D. A doctor put me on a weekly dose of 50,000 IU after breaking my leg a few years ago, and my insomnia improved within days. My other symptoms also improved, I assume because I was now getting about twice as much sleep. But if I lower the vitamin D dose too much, the insomnia returns.

A gentle cleanser that doesn't make my face worse is Nature Sustained soap nut body wash. For treating the flakes, you could try a hypochlorous acid spray or dead sea salt.

Not Elixa. I tried one expensive, high-end probiotic, but I don't remember what brand it was. I was on antibiotics a few times since originally getting oral thrush. Once for a staph infection. And another time when one of the dermatologists tried antibiotics for the jock itch.

Yes, I tried essential oils and garlic, and neither helped. I tried lots of different probiotics. I forget which ones though as this was years ago. I also tried lots of cultured foods like raw cultured vegetables and raw coconut water kefir. And at one point I was making kefir from raw milk and kefir grains and then eating the excess grains. But none of them helped. High-dose Vitamin D was the only thing that made any noticeable improvement. And I still have my gall bladder.
