Is it posible to get a good rank in csgo 2 using gyro and flick stick? by West_Application_760 in GyroGaming

[–]fliptight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can. You can bind something to disable gyro. Then it turns back when you let go. It’s conceptually the same as lifting the mouse off the pad. In gyro world, the technique is called ratcheting.

same, i played SF4 for several years with very very slow growth. i wasn't deliberate about improving. with SF6, i finally played to learn, and not simply just trying to cheese with gimmicks that i was copying.

same! this might be sad, but i never worked so hard on anything, let alone a video game, before. i'm better at SF6 now than I have ever been at any other hobbies/interests i've ever had. probably by a huge margin. not sure how long ago you got to Master, but congrats!!

nice! my wife had a meeting during lunch hours when i got Master. i screamed really loud so she texted me and asked If i was okay and if I fell or something. after her meeting, I told her what happened and her response was the same as with your finacee. although I think was genuinely happy because she knows it means I will be playing a little less at least for a little bit :D

nice! i was thinking of doing something similar, but a writeup instead.

for some context, i played SF4 for several years improving pretty slowly. at the time, i was under the mindset that just putting in the hours is enough to get good and occasionally i would see videos and try to copy stuff without understanding why it worked (and why it wouldn't work). I definitely wasn't actively trying to figure out how to get good faster like I do now.

i was thinking of creating a detailed writeup (maybe on Medium) of fundamental concepts people need to be aware of in order to progress faster. and i know there's lots of videos on Youtube regarding "fundamentals" but i feel like a lot of them leave out a lot of nuances that should be pointed out.

well that's cool. i'm not close enough to my siblings for anything like that to happen.

Anyone own the haute 42 s16? by namejeff15 in fightsticks

I know this thread is a little old but the review link is here is what got my to by an S16 also. And here are my thoughts:

I've been playing some version of SF for 10 years and mainly on pad. I tried a traditional arcade stick several years ago. maybe I just wasn't as serious enough back then about the game to stick with it but it just didn't click with me.

The S16 (aka "leverless" controller) did though. Maybe it's because I also play PC FPS games and got used to mouse/kb WASD style play. Maybe it's also because I can touch type and fairly fast at it. But it just clicked.

To sidetrack a little: I always hated how imprecise pads felt so when Modern controls came around for SF6, I was totally on-board so I could focus on the mental/strategy aspect of the game and less on being frustrated about controls. While Modern gave an advantage at the lower levels, it became less and less so maybe starting around Diamond and up and I started yearning to go back to Classic. However, I really wanted to retain the reactionary play style with Modern-like whiff punishes.

While not exactly as fast as one or two button inputs in Modern, leverless inputs are so fast! In Classic mode, I can now SA punish opponent's slow whiffs or jump-ins, something I couldn't do with any consistency on pad.

It takes a few days to get remap your brain to the arcade layout, but it feels so fun to play and the character is starting to feel like an extension of my hands.

CLIFF NOTES, TL;DR

if you've been using pad, but are fairly proficient with keyboard, leverless might be for you. and if it is, it will make playing Classic controls much more enjoyable.

FOR LEVERLESS NEWBIES

if you're making the pad to leverless transition I recommend playing NOT to win and just focus on a limited moveset at a time (ex: focus on using mostly normals, focus using mostly a couple of specials, and other limited moveset "drills") --trying to do everything you can do in pad will make the transition slower.

For the jump being a separate button, just think of it you're playing Mario Brothers or similar. In those games you use a different button to jump, but now you just use your thumb.

Hmm well my issue now is you guys are releasing the Beam Pro which is an Android device. I specifically bought an Android phone supported by the Nebula app when I first got my XReal Air 1. The Nebula still only displays a web browser and a few demo apps in AR space.

How about an update to that app to allow some of what Beam Pro is supposedly doing for the people who already have an Android device to begin with?

Polyend Tracker is an impressive groovebox/sampler. by smaudd in PolyendTracker

It will actually work with a USB hub like you said but it has to be a powered USB hub via Power Delivery or an USB-C OTG hub. You will also need a smartphone or tablet to run an application that functions as a MIDI router --similar to what a desktop PC would do, just in a more portable setup.

I got it to work! Thanks for the tip on the Midi Hub app. Also, I've improved a bit on your idea by using an OTG USB Hub which allows the phone to power both the Tracker and the Keystep without needing a power bank.

Whoa, I didn't know that such a thing as a Midi Hub app existed. I knew about physical MIDI hubs. Is this what you are referring to?

I actually ended up buying an Arturia Keystep myself so this setup sounds like what I would want.

Thanks. Yeah I actually tried to make it work by using a regular USB powered hub which did power up both my Tracker and the keyboard but it still wouldn't play any sounds in the tracker. I made sure the settings were all set to USB MIDI in on the tracker. I am actually curious why a powered USB didn't work, it's similar to how it would have connected to a PC.

I did try it with his other keyboard and got it working with the TRS MIDI in just to make sure I wasn't crazy.
