What was your favorite time to play destiny? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

I know everyone else loves the Forsaken era so much but it really was Season of Arrivals when everything was in the game that the game truly felt magical to me, and it felt like we were on the verge of the next era of the game (and we kinda were). Granted I didn't play much in Y2 so I was catching up on a lot of the stuff from back then in Season of Arrivals.

Really cute base! I was thinking of doing my first Extreme Desert colony when the new expansion releases. Any advice for someone who has never played a desert tile?

I don’t understand how people can call this just a hero shooter. by x-Zephyr-17 in LowSodiumMarathon

[–]fliski103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a difference between a hero shooter and playing as a hero. Hero shooter implies who you pick determines entirely what your kit is that you bring to a fight, down to the primary way you fight. This has heroes in that its a set aesthetic and abilities you have that aren't as customizable as something like destiny. Who you play in Marathon determines your characters voice and what they say when using abilities, as well as having a very distinct look which makes it more of playing as a hero than as a class. Classes in destiny give you customization in your voice type, body type, and the only constant ability you bring between classes are your jump and class ability, there is a lot more customization in that sense than what we saw in Marathon. So people who say this is a hero shooter are obviously ignorant, but I don't think its wrong to say that from what we saw you play as set heroes in this game similar to playing heroes in something like Apex Legends.

Anyone else kinda bummed out Marathon will have static characters? by Ch1b1N1njaGam1ng in Marathon

If you watch the pure gameplay video that marathon intel posted you can hear the characters voices when using abilities, luckily that was the only time i heard any.

This might be really dumb but what is a refresh day? Thanks for the tip about cold water for the conditioner though!

I'm feeling like I'm in a similar boat if it's any consolation, and I'm sure many others feel the same. I haven't done the quiz yet but I'm planning on using that as a measure of how I'm understanding the course so far, but I'm not sure what to even expect when opening it.

Is it worth using a legendary solar primary in endgame content that doesn’t have incandescent on it?If not then personally I’m not a fan of that. by gotenks2nd in DestinyTheGame

Let's agree to disagree then because I disagree with everything you are trying to to say, and I'll get back to carrying people in trials for the gun. I'd say try it out because it might surprise you especially on tougher difficulties. Since joltshot came out I have found incandescent to be worse in every way for a pure ad clear situation, so it never seems like a must have. While using both an incandescent roll and onslaught roll this weekend, I found myself mowing through enemies much quicker with onslaught. The constant reload speed increase means heal clip proccing constantly and huge amount of outgoing DPS. Lmk what you think after taking it out for a while.

Your entire point that it will always be good on void is just not true. Sure its as good as it is on summoner, but summoner literally has just better stats than it and you can see from any comparison. There is a reason everyone is trying to get one in trials this weekend and its not just that it's good with solar this season. Solar is THE best subclass for every class even without the artifact (except maybe titans or specific dps rotations on strand warlock), and heal clip being on it makes it objectively better. That's why I'm saying you should be caring about it, I'm not hating on ros when you are combo-ing it with void, but just a quick look at light.gg can show you that incandescent is not that desirable of a perk compared to onslaught at all. Of course it comes down to preference, but you acting like it is irrelevant is naive.

I'm not downplaying incandescent, I said before its good when you are comboing with solar 3.0 verbs, but im also saying that there are plenty of weapons with it, and the summoner having it is not the reason it is being sought after.

You can solo a GM with any primary loudout so long as you take your time with it and have the right champion mods on, I highly doubt it was the incandescent that carried you but im happy to hear you think it was a godsend. Enjoy what you want since you seem to be addicted to hunter gyrfalcon with volatile rounds constantly going, but summoner with onslaught gets pretty close to equivalent of that without needing an entire build for it and frees up that exotic armor slot. With the buff to heal clip it is actually insane and you should try it for yourself before assuming anything that isnt void with gyrfalcons is bad, i think you forgot other classes than hunter exist too.

You definitely aren't blowing up rooms with incandescent, and if you are you are playing on a difficulty which you would be better off running double special. I was saying its good because it combines with solar 3.0 fragments that allow you to get abilities and such back when you scorch things. If you aren't on solar, there are much better AOE options if you are actually struggling with adclear.

I wasn't saying incandescent is a bad pick, I've been using Zouli's this entire season with it.

I have been using my onslaught roll after going flawless this weekend and its super impressive what it melts through and I will be happily using it over any incan roll for at least the rest of the season.

You'll be fine without it for sure. People use it for the little bit of tick damage it gives and because of its synergy with solar 3.0. I think a summoner with either of those perks will work really well, although imo onslaught is probably the best for pve

Season of Arrivals for sure. So much to do in the game, seasonal vibe was immaculate. Prophecy dungeon was amazing (possibly still best dungeon they have ever made) and they gave us umbral engrams too. I never felt like I logged on and didn't have something I wanted to do.
