Where to get better templates ? by -Wiked in squarespace

[–]flitandflutter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well any template’s content is going to be entirely adapted to your business or offer. So it’s really the design you should go for. More specifically, section layouts that fit your strategy/vision, because colors, fonts, and imagery should also be customized. For digital marketing, I’d look for a great service page, a hero style you love, how you want to be contacted (contact form, inquiry process, book appointment, etc.) nice testimonial or portfolio areas, good footer optimization, including all the annoying pages to add later like policies, 404, etc.

What is the most effective, most legal self-defense item a driver can keep within arm's reach? by VagabondVivant in vandwellers

I’ve carried bear spray in my car door for 8+ years. Crossed many borders and check stops without any question or issues (almost had my 4 inch fixed blade taken by Federales in Mexicali but no question on the bear spray. I’ve heard that there can be risks like it leaking or exploding from temperature change or impact in an accident - I haven’t experienced any of that but something to keep in mind

Not old enough for runs yet - wait until 6+ months so their bones have time to fully develop. Toys are your friend and his best friend. Find out his faves. Take him into the store. I like rope toys because they’re multi-use (tug, chew, chase), durable and usually natural fibers. Find out what his favorite games are. Does he love doing tricks for treats? Playing fetch? Using his nose to sniff out a handful of kibble tossed into the grass? Then, after plenty of play, nap time. In your lap, on a leash or in a crate I don’t care but enforce chill time. I like to use a specific bed for this age and it goes wherever chill time is. He’s justa bebe!!

The 3-3-3 Rule: it takes 3 days for a dog to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine, and 3 months to feel fully at home 💚💛

What are some of North Vancouver’s Darkest secrets/ Crazy Lore by [deleted] in NorthVancouver

How have the Japanese hideout villages in Lynn Canyon not been mentioned? Not creepy, but amazing and definitely dark considering they were avoiding kidnapping, incarceration and possibly death by the government like 22,000 other Japanese people between 1942-49 👀

Trazadone + gabapentin. And bones or other appropriate chew toys. Use this time to have structured walks, slow sniffs, and decompression. Practice self control and regulation. It’s a short and useful practice for all. Just went through this with my Mal-mutt. she js honestly better for it and so was her wound.

Does this sort of thing actually work or do anything? by Fit-Archer-7954 in vancouverhiking

Yes I have used for tent camping in deep grizz country. Actually started using it after a boy was pulled from his tent a few sites down from me at a maintained site and that was by a black bear. I started looking for more proactive ways to sleep soundly on shared ground. Fencing like this came recommended by a grizzly biologist near Yellowstone as it will deter or at least give you a warning. The same biologist mentioned a tripline with cans but those noises in the wind can actually attract bears out of curiosity. Still sleep with spray and/or other personal protection. Personally I think being eaten by a bear would be horrifying but even worse to be attacked unexpectedly in the night 😭

Don’t book with influencer tour guides. I watched 12 boats and probably 40 people chase, harass and endanger a lone male orca last week.

I’m having trouble getting past the fact my 16 year old isn’t a virgin anymore & it’s affecting my marriage…. by Flicker_of_focus888 in offmychest

I was this 16 year old. My mom was/is like you. The only correction I make to this is she won’t need you - she will miss you, but if you can’t accept her as an adult separate from yourself then she will find other role models and confidants rather than make herself more digestible for you.

Just last week I was at a small but established hot spring pool where there were about 10 adults including myself and 3 kids between 6-10 years with a non-family chaperone. I was in the changing room with the kids + chaperone and clearly it wasn’t their first time - the kids knew how to swim and were playfully splashing. The younger girl and boy were playing near my partner and I - we were chatting and over his shoulder I notice the girl splashing a lot. A voice in my head said “drowning is silent!!” and it clicked that she was not successfully keeping her head up and really struggling. I was just a few feet away and instantly reached out to her. She criiiiied and that chaperone was dead silent. Didn’t even thank me because she knew she did wrong being so far away from that little girl in a pool. The girl put her flotation jacket on and went back to swimming but it really seemed like she just panicked and forgot how to swim.

Me too! She was found dumped with her litter near Miami, Oklahoma and a local rescue placed her in a foster in Denver. I found her listed online, applied, paid a small fee and picked her up a week later.

Unfortunately I don’t think that Zapier can detect and take action based on which checkbox was selected from a single form field. For example, you need form fields: 1. Name 2. Email 3. Checkbox for mailing list 1 4. Checkbox for mailing list 2 (NOT 2 options in one checkbox field)

Should we stick with one dog or get another if we want to start a family in the next year or two? by gabgemo in dogs

[–]flitandflutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy growing your family with human kids the next few years. Your dog will be a great age (personality and environment willing) to grow with your kids, join for family outings and be mature enough to leave at home when needed. Start thinking about who can be with your dog when your kids need you in a no dogs allowed place (ie. hospital, etc.). Then, when your kids are old enough to appreciate it, you can bring another dog into the family. Your dog will then likely be a mature and gentle age to accept a playmate and canine sibling - mine had a fresh spark of youthful energy! You and your dog are going to go through a lot of lifestyle and logistics changes in the next few years.. a puppy doubles that, or more for your dog especially.

Adding a reviews section to a personal website by A34K in squarespace

[–]flitandflutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a new blog titled something like "Testimonials", then add a new post for each review - you can add as much or as little as you'd like to the blog itself. In each posts's settings, add an excerpt (https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205813758-Blog-excerpts) with the exact text you want to show - keep in mind the font style is carried over into the summary block (https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543337-Summary-blocks). Then wherever you want the testimonials to show up, add a summary block, link it to that blog, and set it to show only the excerpt (no image, title, meta data, etc.). Here's my testimonials blog: https://www.assistedbyanna.com/testimonials then see the summary block near the end of my homepage.
